3 days ago I woke up in the morning and was inspired to create a card game. I have been looking for new games to play with my friends and nothing is anywhere near as fun as Settlers of Catan. So I figured I mind as well put my mind to the task and see if I can come up with a fun card game to add variety to what we play since games like Rummy, Poker, Blitz all get old and are too simple in my opinion.
2 nights ago Scott and I played through the first ever game of "Spoils", the name of my game. It was clunky and seriously not fun. We discussed several changes and then went out on a double date with his girlfriend and Lena-Kate. Yesterday I spent 3 hours playing through mock games with 2 invisible friends and realized that even with the changes, the game was too prone to Analysis Paralysis. So I mentally got out a clever and drastically simplified certain aspects of it. Last night Scott, Shane and I ran through 2 games of Spoils 2.0 and it was getting to be quite fun. Its not there yet at all, we made changes between the games and a couple during the games, but its getting there. Once I am happy with it I'll post the rules up on here if you guys are interested, all it needs so far is a standard 52 card deck and 2 dice.
