TTSCC Fanfic: A Friend (K+)
He knows his mother won’t like her. He knows she won’t approve of an attractive female terminator sticking to his teenage self like a shadow.
He also knows she won’t always be around.
Another terminator had been sent back to the past to kill him; he knew he wouldn’t survive without another metal protector, no matter how hard his mother would try.
He could have sent Bob again, sure he was a bit outdated, but he got the job done. He terminated. But John didn’t just need a terminator now, he needed a friend.
After his mother died he lived off the grid, lived isolated and so desperately alone… until Kate.
But just like his mother, Kate was gone now too, and once again he was alone. He could help but think it would have been better if he had never met him. She wouldn’t have died the way she did, wouldn’t have suffered.
He should have done it alone, but he was weak. If he didn’t intervene, his teenage self would drag Kate into this all over again. Putting her in danger; killing her. He needed a replacement, someone to care about who couldn’t be taken away so easily.
When he saw the beautiful terminator, modelled after Allison, one of the soldiers he knew he had found her. He spent days painstakingly re-programming her and making her perfect. Then he taught her things, taught her about him, about the world, about what to expect and how to act around a 15 year old boy. He taught her how to be his friend.
Then he sent her away. Hoping to God she would change things for the better.
