Today has been a good day...
I went to the optometrist today to get my eyes checked out, and he said they looked so much better compared to the last time he saw me, which is excellent. My prescription hasn't changed, so it's still at horrendously large numbers, haha. -6.75 in my right eye and -7.50 in my left! It's kinda scary... Oh well... The lights look pretty at night that way, especially at Christmas time.
I then went into work because I forgot my hours for this weekend and I intended on purchasing an orchid. So I picked up the orchid and then talked to Rebecca, my boss/manager person, about what days I can/should work full time during the summer and my issues with office work (I want a day back there, darn it...). Anyways, she just said I could have the orchid as a gift because I should have gotten a raise a long time ago! I was quite stunned by it... And then she goes on to say that I will be getting a raise on my up coming paycheque, and it will be a significant increase. I'm thinking, "Holy shit!" Haha... It was kinda weird... I'm glad that I won't be stuck at $8.50 for much longer... And I'm really thankful for the $40 plant, too!
I ended up getting this orchid:
It's a Phalaenopsis type of orchid called 'Taisuco Kaaladian'. Don't ask me how to pronounce any of those names because I don't know. I like it... I need to name it some sexy name... Don't ask me why I name my plants, I just do...
I've been learning some German with one of those teach yourself kit things, and it's actually fun! I like German because it looks like English. Although all the nouns are capitalized, so it's kinda weird... And there's something else that's somewhat weird about it, too, from what Janeen told me. I'm sure I'll come across it soon. Hopefully I'll start learning some Russian soon! I am excited about it!
