And your Mel loves you! If you want some more tea, let me know and I'll bring it in August. I've been trying to collect more stuff, but my new hubby has put a firm NO MORE on the shopping for friends, cause we've got to buy two cars and furniture in like a month and a half. I'm sorry, you kind of got screwed because I was getting Mary and Jim house stuff and then I was working on you, but now I'm leaving a year earlier than I thought I would. I'm so sorry.
But I'm glad that you're enjoying the few things I managed to get you. The bottle was such a cool find. There's this little flea market on the weekends on a hidden street outside base. I found it one day on accident when I took a wrong turn. Anyway, this street is jammed with ramshackle huts and they sell anything there. It looks like what you'd imagine Okinawa to look like about 35 years ago. There are old people sitting around smoking and drinking sake and dogs running around loose and women carrying string bags full of giant veggies. IT's soooo cool. I was walking by these stalls and I saw that bottle sitting way off to the side of one stall that seemed to mostly be selling rusty gardening tools. I asked the guy how much it was (and I don't think he knew a word of English) and I guess he made up a price on the spot, and he said 100 Yen. So that bottle cost maybe .80 american, and it was probably used to hold sake or beer in a former life. I just think that's kind of cool, that it's an actual used item, not something made by Pier One to look like a Japanese beer bottle.
Right.
And yes, I will be in Sac. I will have some days free to do something, if you want to hang out. But I really hope you'll make it to Vegas.
hehehe mel?! not shop?!! i dont think thats possible.lol. YES!! green tea please.. I LOVE IT.. i drink i every day . but im sad because i dont want to run out.. but a spoonful of tea will last me all day so it shouldnt go to fast.. by the time august comes around ill need a new refill:) and i can even give you money for it if you need it .i need to make a habit of drinking green tea every day, for a smoker that would be good.. that rocks about that bottle. im even more happy. i feel really lucky to have something like that. thank you for picking me! :) hehehe
man mel i cant wait to see you and your new man.. is he treating you good? how does it feel to be married? do you recomend it?
I know. This no shopping thing is really killing me. But I know that the more I save here the more I can shop in the states, where I can buy clothes that fit. You'd love it here Beth, there are such CUTE clothes. But they only fit skinny short women (ake you). People my height are like giant sized here. I can't even find a bathing suit.
As for the tea, I'll buy you a kilo (hehe) before I come back there, husband be dammed! Hey, do you want a ceramic teapot too (they're not expensive) that would sort of match the teacup? I meant to get you that metal one and a more traditional ceramic one, but I shipped your stuff before I got to the teapot store. So anyway, do you want one or would that be one teapot too many?
My baby treats me wonderfully, and I actually LIKE married life. I never thought I'd be like this. Mary always would say that Jim made her feel at peace and calm and centered, and I thought that was sweet but I didn't really get it. I totally get it now. I feel so good now. Like....oh it's hard to expalain. LIke I'm more me than I used to be. I guess.
It's funny, right as I was replying to that, he started to finally play me a song he'd written while he was in Saudi earlier this year, and it was a sweet song about me....*sniffle* He's a great man, and I can't wait for you to meet him.
And now I'm off to a friends house...take care for now
