16. HUG.
That is all.
In conclusion, WOW. Sam being all bad-ass was incredibly creepy. His face was really rigid and cold. And that whole sequence with Sam going on the hunt all by himself was genuinely well-done. We've all seen Jared being all bad-ass in Born Under A Bad Sign, but watching Sam, really Sam, go to the dark side is a little bone-chilling.
Question though, did Sam really go through months like that? Or did the trickster somehow speed up time? Or was it all an illusion? False memories? It doesn't quite match up. It appears as if he was a vindictive, selfish bastard who seek only revenge (ref: John Winchester, Gordon Walker), and the moment the trickster showed up and gave Dean back, it was as if as those tough times Sam went through by himself didn't happen. hunter!Sam is so different from defeated&angsty!Sam. The only reason I could think of is that those times never really happened, probably just illusions or false memories. For Sam's sake, I hope so. Another question, so what did the trickster really do? Manipulate dimensions? Time and space? Create illusions? Perceptions? I have no idea anymore.
Next question, why did the trickster go through the trouble to teach Sam a lesson? Just for fun? Which side of the war is he on? He appears to be a little worried about the enemies using exploiting Sam's weakness. I am guessing he's neutral, but he would not rather have demons control the world. That will spoil his fun, won't it?
Those stuff aside, excellent episode. Although I must say, the tone of the episode swayed so much, it kinda threw me off a little. It switched from light, to heavy, back to light, and then OMG TOTAL ANGST, and half the time, I'm not quite sure what I'm suppose to feel. But that last part of the episode? I was such a mess afterwards. SO MUCH LOVE.
OH SHOW. OH BOYS.
