Today’s report from 1984: A Poll
Twenty-four U.S. States have laws requiring individuals to identify themselves to an officer of the law in the process of investing a crime. Today the Supreme Court upheld these laws as constitutional. Writing for the majority Justice Anthony Kennedy, "Answering a request to disclose a name is likely to be so insignificant in the scheme of things as to be incriminating only in unusual circumstances."
