It’s quite the jam isn’t it?
Of course, you wouldn’t know
how hard this has been.
The not knowing is killing me.
Your insistence that we are ‘just friends’
when nothing we do, in any world
qualifies as ‘just friends.’
Yes, we have stepped back;
yes, some things have changed;
but I still love you,
and you still love me.
So why is it that you insist
that this is the best way
for us to get back to better
than the way things were.
