Once again, I'm a writing fiend this week, and I've got three different poems for one prompt. I can't really submit 3 for brigits_flame. Here's what the prompt for the week says. and thanks for voting.
Starting Over
Life offers an opportunity to start over so rarely. Once we start down a path, even when we backtrack, we're still on that same path. Switching over to a new way can require a complete purging of the old- both what is good, and what is not.
But then, few things are really worth starting over. Our failures grow us, I'd say even more surely than our successes. Instead of starting over, perhaps we need to learn how to fail successfully instead- so that when life gives us what we cannot handle, we can stand back up, heal, and make the most of it.
Or perhaps starting over does not mean leaving the path... perhaps simply standing up, brushing yourself off, and starting to climb once more is starting over...
It's a new year, everyone. Pack up what you'll keep, and leave what's left behind. Let's make this first topic something fantastic!
