That felt all graphic and raw and a bunch of other snooty art words I would say if they didn't make me sound like a pretentious bitch. It's nuts how well this all came together in the end. I'm so so glad you decided to end the way you did, the whole tone of the story felt more gritty and real and like you weren't trying to force feed a happy ending.

Once upon a time, he used to slay dragons, just like in those picture books, the ones with the princesses with sun-gold hair and blue dresses and handsome princes on horses, falling in love. But Sam grew up and found out that those were the only monsters that didn't exist in her world. Swords were confused with the smell of gunpowder and Sam just stopped trying to tell the difference. BROKE ME IN HALF. Just, wow... ouch.

Mostly what resonated with me most not only the first time I read this, but again reading it finalized is how much your girl!sam still feels like sammy. You always write Dean stupidly well and that was a given by now but my biggest problem with genderswap fics is always that the characterization changes so drastically. It gets to a point where you don't even recognize the character anymore and I just love you times a thousand for keeping Sam. I know you were worried or stressed or whatever about how this would turn out but you completely and flawlessly nailed it!!
