Hm. :| I think I'm unimpressed. SPOILERS
Okay, I think I have to put up a disclaimer-- I'm a HughJackman-as-Wolverine fangirl. But even having him run around in a wife beater or shirtless for half the movie wasn't quite enough to redeem it. :\ It felt like it was put together by newbies-- new writers, directors, CGI peeps, etc. I'm getting ahead of myself...
First, the story was kinda boring. Granted, I've never actually read Wolverine's origins (heck, I didn't even know his real name was James but by Wikipedia), but it was the same ol'shite as every other anti-hero. Revenge, revenge, revenge. Oh, and he pulled the ROTS Anakin on us like, four times. :| I dunno if that was intentional. Somebody had to have caught that, unless they were going for a "character" thing here-- like that's what he does every time he gets upset.
Secondly, I'm going to go on about the hot people in this movie. xD Hugh Jackman is always pretty good looking, but I just about died when they had him running around naked. *l.o.l.* And whoa, Liev Schreiber. :9 His rape-face was a bit spine-tingly, too, which is not a good thing. D: Oh yeah! Young Victor... who is that kid...
Michael-James Olsen-- yeah, he's got some pretty eyes. I was almost able to look past the hideous acting in the first section just because of them. Which, sadly, has to bring me back to my review...
The acting was wow. Pretty terrible, especially in the beginning, though it may have been because of the writing. I can't even get into it because pretty much every line in the first act was awful, and I don't remember them all. I'm trying to forget. e__e When Deadpool and the group showed up, it picked up a little, but not much. And then they were gone for pretty much the rest of the movie. I didn't understand why they sprung those people on us only to get rid of them/not develop their characters. :| And they gave too many close-ups to Dominic Monaghan, I thought-- it almost seemed like they were trying to sell the movie on the fact that he was in it for a little while. But it could have also been because a lot of the shots seemed to linger too long on pointless stuff. :|
Music was good, camera wasn't shaky or too fast, though the fight scenes were choreographed in a way that was a little boring and a little difficult to tell who was doing what. The CGI looked half-finished throughout the entire movie. :( And that bit where they CG'd Sabretooth chasing Scott? Totally fake. I mean it was so fake, it pulled me out of the movie. And now I'm going to move onto a serious spoiler-- Deadpool. When he died, could his head have seriously spun like that? 1, it was almost perfect; 2, is seemed like it didn't fall fast enough; and 3, when the oxygen stopped, shouldn't the laser have turned off? Oh, and if he had healing abilities, wouldn't his eyelids have healed back? *shrug*
Oh wow, I didn't mention Remy at all! :O Yeah, so I totally fangirled even though he wasn't anything spectacular. And that pimp-staff? Ooooh yeah, need to get rid of that quick. His accent wasn't very good and his eyes weren't black. :\ So all-in-all, he wasn't really Gambit to me besides the power.
Aaaaand, so the Stryker thing after the credits started wasn't a "secret ending"? It's at the
very end? Darn, now I think I need to go back and see it again. :| *didn't wait until the very end because of work. :(*
Oh wait, if Wolverine is the best at what he does, why does he keep getting beat up?
