I GOTTA JOB.
Teaching AP and Honors World History at a school with an International Studies magnet program! Which is like-- dude. When I went to the first interview, I thought I'd be teaching on-level Government/Econ to a bunch of disaffected seniors. Which would have been fine, because-- JOB! And I like teaching, even the disaffected seniors, and government (contrary to what we've all just witnessed over the past few weeks) is fun! But! They're giving me AP. AP World. If someone had said, "Carol, what totally pie-in-the-sky subject would you like to teach as a first-year teacher?," I would have said, "Oh, gimme AP World," and then I would have checked to make sure my water wasn't drugged.
