I'm glad someone else found it amusing. When I was drawing at the coffeeshop I kept thinking, Carol, my girl, you have crossed the line from fannish to truly bizarre, but apparently that's okay. :)

I have this thing where I totally want to give a lecture for class or present a paper at a conference-- with a sock puppet. You know, just get up to the podium and look all profession and fake-intelligent, and then raise my hand to show a white tube sock with a mat of purple yarn hair on top. And then just procede with the presentation, as though it's Completely Normal for a sock puppet to be involved.

This might be part of the reason why I sometimes doubt my future in academia.
