Favorite time John probably wished he were drunk
Gonna go with Doranda again. There's no way that way easy for anyone involved.
Favorite person that so should have been on SGA
Abby Sciuto from NCIS, because thre's no way Rodney would know what to do with her. She's awesome and amazing and has so much skill that it would blow Anny's mind, but she'd break every mold that Rodney could possibly try to squish her into.
Favorite day John's hair threatened to take over the world
The day they did the Men Of Atlantis Calendar shoot.
Favorite day you were pretty sure John’s hair was alive and possibly sentient
Because only hair with a mind of its own stands up in that much water, seriously.
Master list of cracky questions First, Danny's little brother is DANE FUCKING COOK, let's get that out of the way first and foremost. And he loves Gracie, wow, but who doesn't, because she's the cutest kid in the history of cute kids, right? So yeah. And I think Matty has some sort of thing for Rachel, who was actually kind of awesome in this episode, even though I have issues with her on a theoretical level.
Um, that dinner thing? Was clearly the best dinner ever, and Steve butted in and then tried to do the awkward-leaving thing, but Matty saw the Epic Love and made him stay. And the TOUCHING, did you see all the touching? Because I might be stretching things when I say that I absolutely firmly believe that Danny called Steve 'honey' in the middle of that scene, but I know I'm not making up all the touching and grabbing and leaning, and Rachel smiling at it, too, RACHEL SHIPS STEVE/DANNY.
Danno in Protective Big Brother mode is almost as awesome as Protective Daddy mode, I have to say And his description of Matt, how he defended him to Steve in the beginning there - how Matt stayed with him in the hotel after the divorce, how Danny didn't think he would have made it if Matt hadn't been there - it made me ache for him, because there's only one way this was going to end, really. And he follows Matt around and tries to fix it, and it's clear that he's so torn between upholding everything and protecting his brother. I was happy when Rachel did the ex-wife-knows-you thing and reminded Danny about the family first thing before it ate him alive.
The case itself didn't interest me nearly as much as the personal stuff, probably because it was kind of obvious. It was even pretty much the B-plot of the episode, or so it felt to me, so I don't even feel that bad about not really giving it much thought.
The thing with Danny following Matt to that meet and listening in - and him calling Steve first, and Steve literally dropping what he's doing to go with Danny - made me flail a little, because epic love, they has it. And Steve calling the Governor on those two FBI guys for Danny, and Danny knowing he'd do it - ugh, sometimes they're so adorable I want to smish them, seriously, guys. And Steve lying to the feds at the end and Danny's kind of choked 'thank you' - and Steve letting him go on his own, oh oh oh.
You had to know Danny wasn't going to shoot his baby brother, but I think he came closer than he thought he could in that end scene there before Matt got on the plane. And then him driving to Rachel's, because Rachel knew Matt and nobody else there really does, and she knows about Danny and family and all, and I'm coming around to her, I really am. Between her giving him the hug he needs from someone who understands the situation and the crashing the car into the neighbor's house thing a few episodes ago, I'm starting to like her. Danny needs a friend who isn't 5-0, and if that friend is Rachel, well. Stranger things have happened.
There's so much fic rolling about in my head for this episode, so much, guys. A coda where Danny goes to Steve's after Rachel's, that's happening soon, and then something about right after the divorce with Danny and Matt being supportive, and then something about Danny having to come up with some sort of story to tell his parents and sisters, oh the angst, my heart.
This week in summary: Steve is supportive of his partner in ways that 'immunity and means' probably aren't intended to cover, Danny's family angst makes my heart hurt for him, Kono didn't get to kick nearly enough ass (but she's still > Everyone), and I want to hug Steve and Danno.
