I'm so, so sorry to have to do this, ugh.

I've turned custom comment pages back on in my journal, guys, because I cannot handle the changes LJ made to comments on non-custom comment pages. It's not ideal, it's not something I want, but I can't read the other ones, and at least I can handle reading my own default layout. So until they either change it back or make it better somehow, I'll be ( Read more... )

ugh and damn

This isn't too bad, although the grey text I'm typing right now is very very light. I don't like reading it. :-p

Oh, that is rather light, isn't it? I've never had this turned on with this layout, lol, so I've not looked at it. I'll switch that to black :D

I...see that the comments have changed but, um. I don't see what's so bad about the new ones? am I missing something?

Oh, wait, totally answered my own question. Whelp. This is going to screw with all the comment fic something terrible.

I'm having a hard time using them (I'm visually impaired, and was using the old stripped-down page because it was easy for me to see). I'm also not a fan of the new way they made to look at icons, or the fact that there are no longer comment subject lines in that style.

Basically, all of the changes are making it hard for me to use, so I'm not a fan, haha.

i definitely prefer the icons as a list. sometimes it's pot luck if i can remember the right keywords!

I wouldn't mind it near so much if they'd put them back in alphabetical order. I don't need to see the icons to recall what I've got, but I had things grouped by fandom and character and other things that were useful to me, and having them show up in the order that I added them is totally, completely useless to me. I can certainly see the appeal for some people - I'm not against the change - I just would be able to use it much more efficiently if they'd put the icons in alphabetical order by keyword.

asdfghjkl i never noticed that, i don't often change icons. buggerit i liked that my captain america icons were within easy reach. ;______;

Indeed! I liked that I could arrange my icons by keyword and then choose *which* Cap icon I wanted to use, rather than just having to pick one that I came across. :/

Okay... in typing this to complain I realized one silver lining: my extra icons expired two weeks ago, but this new layout is giving me all of them again. Uh, thanks, lj? But it still doesn't make up for the lack of subject lines. That's gonna make landcomms a total pain in the ass for more than a couple of the challenges I had planned. Not to mention the results.

eta: Okay never mind. It lets me select a disabled icon without saying its disabled but when I went back to look at the comment it reverted to my default. Now I won't KNOW which icons I can't use - even more annoying.

I run a kinkmeme. I feel your subject line pain, babe.

And that icon thing? Is super annoying, wow. :/

Apparently there will "soon" be a custom comment page that looks like the old one.

Ahhhh, after commenting so long at the release post I am going to PREVIEW THE HECK OUT OF THIS COMMENT

But why are they even doing it, then? If they know they just have to turn around and make a custom comment page that looks like the old default one? AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHXamillion.

They just realised they were almost out of year, and they still had a little left in the 'fucking up things that work perfectly fine' barrel?

IDK but it huuuuurts.
