He's miles up. Air was thin up here, it's hard to breathe and he feels congested like it's winter in Washington, wet and viral. But really it's the middle of July in New York City, and he's snuck onto the rooftop of its highest skyscraper. Dean wanted to be close to him. He'd asked him once if it was that simple: Heaven up, Hell down. He said it was more complicated. Dean doesn't care. He stares up at the seamless black blanket overhead, tinted purple by neon and chrome. His angel is up there somewhere up above him, watching over.
