Had a pretty poor practice tonight with the band...meh it happens...next practice will def be better. I need to practice more outside of just with the band honestly. I also need to try to make some better melodies for the new songs solos. I've also been listening to the new History CD...it's SOOO AMAZING!!! I wish I could play guitar like Matt does in the band. So many people have inspired me lately as far as guitar playing so I felt I could make a top 5 list of my current most influential guitar players.
1. Jason DeRon (Paramaecium, Altera Enigma, Soundscape)
2. Matt Caron (Sound the Alarm, History)
3. Alex Lifeson (Rush)
4. Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains)
5. Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)
Running up would definitely also be Eric Johnson...I've been listening to a lot of his work lately as well.
I need to progress myself further with my instrument...I just haven't felt like this in a while to actually push my playing to the limit.
Me and Andrew from my current band have talked of making a side project just with us and doing straight instrumental music. This I find VERY promising it allows us to put our own effort into making music that wouldn't be accessible enough for theOtherface.
Anyway that's all the news that can be def said for now...hopefully more good things will flow this week.
