Couldn't do it yesterday b/c my dad had out old computer hooked up to extract old data. Ah, well. Here I am now!
I don't think it will be hard to guess my favorite book...
It is, OF COURSE, Harry Potter! :D
I'm not going to find a plot summary of Harry Potter because the books are so famous (and well they should be) that you should already know what they're about, and if you're my friend I sure hope you've read them! :P I started reading Harry Potter when I was 7 or 8. They've stayed with me since. In fact, I'm rereading the series right now, and what's great about it is that the older you get, the more you get out of the series. I can see now that it's not just an entertaining book series, it's nothing short of literary genius. I could spend my life trying to figure out how Jo's mind works, I swear.
For any huge HP fans like me who don't know where to go to geek out over them, I have compiled a list of websites that have been great for me!
For your knowledge and information purposes, the best websites are...
The Harry Potter Lexicon (I HIGHLY recommend this one! It is the absolute BEST site for everything you need to know about the books. If you've never been there, go now, even if you're not looking for information. Just marvel at its wonderful nerdy beauty.)
Mugglenet (Also a great site. It has a fanfiction section, but it's very exclusive and strict with rules, so good luck publishing, but enjoy reading. Mugglenet has media news rather than book knowledge, though there is some of that, too. I met the creator of Mugglenet once, Emerson Spartz! He told me my shirt was awesome! :D)
The Leaky Cauldron (I don't go on this one, but mostly because I'm more used to Mugglenet. TLC is just as good as Mugglenet, however...maybe even better, I'm not sure! I do like it quite a bit, though!)
For your RPG and fanfiction purposes, the best websites are...
Harry Potter Fan Fiction (I've been on this site since I was 9 or 10. I absolutely love it. It takes a while to get published because the staffers preview each fiction to make sure it's okay, but there are so many fics to read, and it's really brilliant and well-organized. I like it much better than fanfiction.net, at least for my HP fanfic-reading purposes)
Magical Hogwarts (An excellent RPG site that I used to go on. On this site you create your own character and the admins personally sort your character into a house, and then you write scenes with other people. I'm not on it anymore, but I really enjoyed my old RPG days at Magical Hogwarts.)
Hogwarts Extreme (I don't know much about this site. My friend Carolyn recommended it to me, and I joined, but haven't had much time to look around. Check it out for me, let me know what you think of it!)
For your music and listening purposes, the best websites (and other) are...
WizardRock.org (this site has some news, and also a list of many Wizard Rock bands with links to their websites/myspace pages.)
Wizrocklopedia (Another site that has a listing of Wrock bands w/ links, and along with that, has an article on the history of Wrock. Among other things. Very well organized, I recommend it.)
Pottercast (This is actually a podcast produced by the Leaky Cauldron. But it is AMAZING. kthnx.)
Mugglecast (A podcast produced by Mugglenet. I haven't listened to it, but I thought I'd mention it. :P)
(BTW, my favorite Wrock band is The Moaning Myrtles.)
For other purposes (such as charities?), the best websites are...
The Harry Potter Alliance (This is a LGBTQ alliance that connects the common interests of Harry Potter and LGBTQ rights. They have a lot of benefits and charity drives, etc. and are altogether pretty AMAZING. Basically, they're the gay-straight alliance of Harry Potter. Only they do stuff for other people, not just us gays.)
Oh! And I almost forgot
J.K. Rowling's own personal site!
Wow...I'm a nerd! :D
