so i woke up yesterday remarkably able to both breathe and speak (today not feeling quite so good, but that's okay because the ice kept me home anyway), and i went to all of my appointments in Union. it was cool. and i could see things starting to come together. or at least how they could come together, and how exciting that was.
and i drove back to Spartanburg listening to switchfoot (these dreams started singing to me out of nowhere) and it felt good to have a vision. i reflected over the tumultuous last year or so of my life--the ultimate transition (is it over yet?)--and was grateful to be where i am, and in this mindset. there was a long period when my life philosophy, out of necessity, took a sudden shift to "just go with it." and i learned valuable lessons from that, and am glad to have the part of me that now shrugs, telling me to go with it and see what happens. but i am also glad to have the part of me back that dares to dream because i am not too freaking afraid to do it.
they say that without vision, the people will perish. but the people aren't always in a spot where they can afford to have vision. sometimes you just have to get by. and when you're utterly grounded from just getting by, then you can feel the solid ground beneath you and want to begin to build.
that doesn't mean that dreams aren't still scary. but i'll go with it and see. and maybe bring a few people along with me.
