Another day, another breath, I find myself here again waitng... Morning everybody, just got out of mythology we scratched the surface of the "Creation myth" today. Lots o' fun Cosmic Eggs, Makers, Secretion, Earth Divers, and other good stuff. Can't beat that lol. Checked a one of the many translations of the 11 tablets that make up the Epic of Gilgamesh, gonna hit that this weekend an hopefully finish it's only 200 pages or so, i'm hoping the language doesn't prove a barrier. I don't think it will, especially since i've been curious about Gilgamesh for a long time, now i finally have a chance to sate some of that curiosity^^ So as usual it's wednesday i have an HTML assignment I needa get cracking on and I am here at the lab procrastinating. The week has been kinda slow, kinda fast at times. My mom gets back from Texas today, i'll probably not be home til late though because of class and such but i'm glad that she'll be back finally. I don't get along so well with my Dad and I get tired of dealing with the stuff he expects sometimes (not that it's anything to really bitch about). Let's see what else? Finished a Clash of Kings the other day, checked out a Storm of Swords (the third book), the Donnie Darko OST, and two DVDS (Nosferatu, and some academy award winning documentary on the terrorist hostage crisis thingie that happened at the 1987??? 80 something olympics, where they kidnapped a bunch of Israeli atheletes). Checked out Roujin Z from Blockbuster, thats an anime that i've been curious about for a long time, have no idea if it's any good but we'll see. Rented Xenosaga episode II also, haven't got to try it yet though, i'm hoping that i'll enjoy that. Had to draw eggs in Drawing class the other day, it was a little more challenging than it sounds. I really needa post like the 4-5 drawings i've done in class that are just sitting in my portfolio, plus some sketches from me sketch book. The other day i showed up at my history class and realized it was an exam day... and i didn't have a blue book (it's a little booklet with notebook paper in it that you use for essay exams) so i used the bluebook i had wrote in from the last test. I hate getting someplace unprepared, i'm hoping my teacher isn't to anal about it... I did the entire exam, and i'm hoping he accepts that. I'm expecting him to dock some points for you know not bringing the "proper materials" or some shit like that but at least it's in a blue book right? So that kind of soured my day.
That aside, the weather has been nice this week. It has finally cooled down and the heavy summer humidity is gone, so i can finally really enjoy just those little moments where you catch yourself outside captured in the moment, not really thinking about anything just feeling the sun kiss your face and the breeze caress your brow. Fall is probably my favorite time of the year, i don't know what exactly it is about it but it suits me. Talked to my pal Jared on the phone the other day, it was good to hear from him. I don't know why but i've just been a real anti-social fuck since i moved back to Virginia, don't get me wrong i'm not scaring people off or anything but I don't have any relationships with anybody socially or otherwise. Not too surprising though considering I really do spend 90% of my time outside of school at home. Got back in touch with my Jason from the last time i lived in Virginia, or more correctly he got back in touch with me. It's good talking to him again, and we're cooking up a scheme for him to come down and visit when he gets off work for a week or two at the end of the month. Need to bring that up with my parents, will talk to me mum about that of course, and yes topha J-rod A-kon lol, i'm pretty determined about getting down there this year to visit unless some catastrophe happens.
Gonna try and see Serenity this weekend. Heard good things about it from the BSG fan community, and the critics when i was logging into my e-mail and yahoo the other day gave it a B+ while yahoo users gave it an A for movie ratings so a sci-fi movie over the weekend would be nice.
Oh I found out that the bookseries I got into has a comic book series that just recently got started based in the same world 100 years before the first book, George R. R. Martin's Hedge Knight so i'm definitely going to have to check that out. Maybe stop by Comic King's this weekend. So yep needa get some work done so that's all folks. Keep you posted. ~the Bedhead Zombie
