the cat
there is a cat who hangs out near our dorm. he/she is black and white and quite small. today is the first day i have actually had an encounter with him/her. he/she sat on my lap and let me pet it. it is very friendly. i want to keep it in my room and have it sleep on my bed at night. but if i got caught id be fined like 5000 dollars or some outrageous amount. i wonder whos it is? it doesnt seem like it belongs to anyone in particular. i wonder if it minds not belonging to a person. i wonder if it enjoys being free to prowl around the grounds and get petted by everyone. it makes me so happy to pet it. but i worry about it too and hope that it is ok and doesn't get hurt. i think next time i am at the store i will buy some little cat treats to feed it when i see it. im sure it doesn't need the food. im sure it can fend fo ritself. but maybe it will appreciate the thought. i havent decided yet weather the cat is lucky or unlucky to be out living on its own. able to do whatever it wants. maybe it isnt really. maybe it just comes from someones house to hang out near our dorm. it doesnt really seem like it though. run free cat. run free.
