Hi dear flist! Hope you are all doing well and enjoying whatever weather you're given. I also hope haven't had your soul slain by last week's GoT episode. I didn't either, but it was a near thing, and if anyone has a rant for me, I will gladly bask in it.

3. Sometimes in drabbles or mood-pieces I really prefer the possibilities of 1st person or the sinisterness of 2nd person, but for longer fics I default to 3rd person because it's the easiest - i don't have to choose every word as carefully as I do in 1st person, nor do I have to worry about my narrator being perceived as unreliable if I don't want them to be. Which I usually don't. Like, if I do write 1st person things, the character will usually be very, very trustworthy. 3rd person is the most unassuming, I guess. I think I always write limited rather than omniscient narrators though. Not sure why! Maybe because omniscient feels kind of untrustworthy again ( ... )

Yeah, I like 3rd person limited too. It's a nice midpoint between "influenced by the character's voice" and "neutral/objective".

Oh, those are good themes.
