The sound of sounds enlightening

After days of freezing rain and other weather not fit for man nor beast, winter has come to North Bay.

Yesterday at work, myself and some co-workers were talking about the impending snow and one fellow Brad commented that the weather channel stated that the snow was to start at noon. I looked at my phone and told him that it was 11:59 and that the snow wasn't late just yet. We were standing in line for the coffee truck and as I returned to the shop, the snow began. Within minutes, we were at blizzard conditions. I must hand it to the weather channel, when they are right, they are right.

We had somewhere in the neighbourhood of 20 cm of snow between noon and six pm, more overnight. Its just lightly snowing now as I prepare to head in for more overtime. Today will be the longest shift in the world as Jen will be back in North Bay around 2 after three weeks away at her placement. I'll be counting the seconds until that bus pulls in. I almost wish that I hadn't decided to go in for overtime, then I could have slept until noon and cut out most of the waiting, although I had a hard time falling asleep last night. It was something akin to being a kid and trying to sleep before Christmas.

I wish I had the camera here, the world outside has that fresh snow look. It's very pretty. Winter is always best taken in from the warm side of a window.

Do you ever stop and wonder where you'd be without her?
