What Would Mister Vimes Do?
He'd get bloody suspicious, that's what he'd do. Probably get angry, too. He'd look for clues, and he'd talk to people, and he'd stay up all night in his office, Not Drinking, and writing things in his notebook.
So that's what Angua's doing. Trying to be the detective. She's not good at it. She'd returned to the scene under cover of night and of wolf shape, and scoped around. Nothing. It had been too long, and that acid dominated everything. She couldn't even pick up blood. All she has it how she thinks Vimes, Carrot and Cheri would react, and her own instincts.
She'd trust her life to her instincts, but they're not all she has.
So she writes in her notebook.
- no animals in the area. No other werewolves. No other vampires. No smells I can't attribute to someone here. "Teeth" on neck bones, no where else.
- someone new? Frightened and alone? - Can't smell any new people.
- motiveless murder?
- dog attack then called off - no dog smell. Backup wasn't in area.
- faked to look like animal attack? Faked to look like undead attack?
- how did it get in the acid without the murderer being burned?
- accident
- fell through after death - possible, cop-out answer, though.
- other animals:
- yooma - not enough details. Seemed vague. pieces of souls.
Zuko
- to keep people together? Isn't lusting after power. Scared.
- temper. burn, not slash.
Simon
- all concern - all business - disturbed but not overly scared. Professional.
Hotaru
- maybe delusional? 'super'hero - not capable of killing a child.
Spoon
- scared. - suspicious. suspects werewolf. Not a set up.
Katara
- shocked - found body. Intelligent. set up unlikely.
Harth
bloody vampire. Evasive. Lying? Covering up? Not dead yet, apparently.
- covering for Mel?
Mel
- terrified - Beyond rationality. Harth says no reason for it - shock and recognition. Guilt?
Harper
- paranoid, but not guilty. worried, not that scared. Helpful. Fine.
River
- knows something. Not sure what. mentally unbalanced?
Wash
- doesn't seem to be hiding. Thought it was something, dismissed that. Now less worried. Like Simon.
