1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before? everything.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? i don't really understand the deal with new years resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? joe and perrine had a junebug!

4. Did anyone close to you die? nope.

5. What countries did you visit? france and england.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006? a backyard?

7. What date(s) from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? my birthday, the three weeks i spent in europe, all of august--and all for very complicated and in fact innumerable reasons. and the james hunter concert at the continental club, because he rocked me til i died and was reborn.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? payin' the billz and not crying about it.

9. What was your biggest failure? i don't really feel like i've failed. i'm on my way to everywhere i want(ed) to be and i feel pretty good and strong.

10. Did you suffer any illness or injury? i got some freaking huge holes in my jaws from my little impacted wisdom teeth and couldn't eat solid food for a month. plus i got sick like everyday.

11. What was the best thing you bought? the lantern over my dining room table, maybe?

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? e'erybody.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? like i would put something like that on the internet.

14. Where did most of your money go? bills, bills, bills. and my trip to europe.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? everything.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006? priestess, maybe, or nada surf. or james hunter.

i. happier or sadder? happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? even.
iii. richer or poorer? about the same actually.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? writing, being outside.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? not working.

20. How will you be spending Christmas? i spent it driving between walden, magnolia, and oak ridge.

22. Did you fall in love in 2006? moreso.

23. How many one-night stands? none.

24. What was your favorite TV program? house.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? why bother.

26. What was the best book you read? huh. i dunno.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? james hunter, of course.

28. What did you want and get? love, love, love.

29. What did you want and not get? financial stability.

30. What was your favorite film of this year? i haven't watched very many movies. i did see aeon flux recently and it ruled. and v for vendetta. i don't know. who really cares.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? had chambois at sam buca, walked (in heels) to warren's, drank some more, walked to the brewery tap, drank some more. played darts, said embarrassing things, got a piggy-back ride from mike all the way back to the car.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? oh i guess having a better job or getting a free car. or growing wings.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006? same as it ever was. same as it ever was.

34. What kept you sane? mike, good new friends, pocket, feeling like a grown-up, making plans.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? hugh laurie, james hunter.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? gotta think on that.

37. Who did you miss? hethre, tyler, my dad, my best friends in austin.

38. Who was the best new person you met? christina and the whole crew at starbucks. matt archer et al.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006: you just gotta jump in there and do it.
