FIONA APPLE / DAMIEN RICE CONCERT

I'm back from Colombia, and I couldn't be more happy to have returned home.

Today, I went to see Fiona Apple + Damien Rice in concert. My sister and I got there at around 9:00 in the morning, and chatted with people who were there since 5. The waiting was more tolerable than I expected. For long periods of time, the sun was scorching. I was worried Fiona was going to lose her temper.

At around 6:00, we all got to go the stage, and everyone rushed to get in the front. My sister and I were lucky enough to get an almost perfect view. My feet were killing me, and they took forever to start.

I was so relieved when Damien Rice got on stage. He looked good in his brown jacket and jeans. And Lisa Hannigan was gorgeous. He sang "The Professor", "Woman Like A Man", "I Remember","Volcano","The Blowers Daughter", "Cannonball", and more (I just can't remember). Damien went crazy during "I Remember".

It was awesome. And some bitches behind me were like "why is like that? he was so calm before, and now...". I felt like slapping them in their smug faces.

When he finished, he thanked everyone. He said, "You all have been, super, super, sweet." The whole crowd was glad to have made him so happy, especially since he cried during at least 2 of his songs.

Finally Fiona Apple came out, and everyone went wild. I loved her dress - it was long and purple, with a pink belt. She played on the piano as much as she sang on the mic. When she sang, her voice was so raw and emotional. You felt everything, and the crowd shouted and screamed her name.

When Fiona spoke, most people were scratching their heads - she rarely made sense and was really moody, but as one audience member said, "Moody Works!".

She did "Sleep to Dream","Not About Love", "Oh Well", "Shadowboxer", "Slow Like Honey" (for which she gave a funny explanation for), among others. She finished with "Criminal" and it was truly amazing.

I had a great night - and I even bought a shirt with the lyrics of Extraordinary Machine on it. And I got tons of pictures that I had to take while the guards weren't looking.

And I have a question: Why was Heather Graham there?
