“ One of the examples is to illustrate and test the difference between //para[1] and /descendant::para[1]. The difference is explained in a note to Section 2.5 of the XPath Recommendation. After considerable practice, I need to read the note only twice or thrice to remember what this distinction is. SXPath somehow is capable of reproducing the said difference.
