uneventful days(Or Not)

I'm back after a couple of uneventful days. I wouldn't say COMPLETELY uneventful. I went to IKEA yesterday to buy a coffee table, and and end table for my bedroom. Now THERE'S an adventure for you. Have you ever been there??? You walk into the store, and you have to go up the escalator to the top floor where all the stuff actually is....If you're paying attention when you do this(I wasn't) THERE IS NO DOWN ESCALATOR! Not a good sign. So me and my girlfriend are up there for about 5 minutes or so, and I find the coffee table I want. It's a nice oak table, 50 bucks. At the same time, I find a nice little end table for my room. 15 bucks. I'm like "Sweet, I get out of here only spending about 65 bucks. Not a bad deal. Here's where the REAL fun begins. On the tag for the tables it says "Located in the Self Service Furniture section, Aisle 14, lot 23 so on and so forth. I'm like "OK, I just gotta go there and get what I want, then I'm done.....BOY WAS I WRONG.....I proceed to start following the signs that say "Self Service Furniture" as they lead me ALL OVER THE TOP FLOOR OF IKEA.....No short cuts, I have to go through EVERY MOCK ROOM THEY HAVE SET UP!!! We finally get to a set of stairs that say "Self Service Furniture - Downstairs". Now I'm like, "Ok, we just have to go downstairs, and that's where all the furniture is kept. W R O N G! Once we get downstairs, guess what we have to do AGAIN! We have to walk all around the winding bottom floor through all the misc household items they sell(I ended up getting 12 coffee mugs while I was down there...Hey, they were only 50 cents each) We end up having to walk through the ENTIRE bottom floor now, till finally, 40 minutes later, we get to.....THE SELF SERVICE FURNITURE!!!! I finally grab what I went down there for(It's amazing I was able to remember the location for all the time it took to find the damn place. So we go to pay, and then I realize, we are RIGHT TO THE LEFT OF WHERE WE FIRST WALKED IN!! All we would have had to do was go back down the escalator and walk over that way.....but wait....that's right.....NO DOWN ESCALATOR.....which leads me to this conclusion.....IKEA actually wants you to have to walk through EVERY inch of that store, cause by the time you're done, you feel like you've wasted your entire day if you don't at least buy SOMETHING! All that, and I get the coffee table home and put it together and realize it's HUGE! LOL! Oh well, at least it makes for a good story. Have a good one all!
