Name:Sienna Clarke Nicknames: Anyone who attempts to shorten 'Sienna' gets a disapproving glare
Age: 25
LJ URL: SombreRose
Played by: Hanna Pakarinen
Occupation: Waitress at Torrent, Student
Sexuality: Hetrosexual - though was once called Asexual because of her icy nature.
Personality: Sienna Clark is somewhat of an enigma. Despite being outwardly cold and emotionless, her emotions run very deep and she has a very caring nautre. Family traumas in her childhood taught her to keep her emotions under strict control, so as not to upset anyone around her. Even now, as a young adult, her friends comment that it is almost impossible to tell what Sienna is thinking/feeling at a glance. She will smile among friends, and laugh (A quiet, dignified laugh,), but most of the time appears unanimated and keeps a neutral expression
She comes from quite a large family, and appears to have a natural caring instinct. Although she seems unapproachable at first, she is always willing to listen to people's problems, and offer her level-headed and non-judgemental advice if asked for it. Sienna seems to prefer solitude to spending time with other people. Indeed, many of her hobbies are the type persued solo. She will go out with friends, on occasion, but tends to remain very quiet and slightly withdrawn.
Sienna has a deep centered love of music, and can play the flute, piano and violin. She has written some compositions of her own, but refuses to play them for anyone. They are hers, and for her only. Although she encourages the idea she only listens to 'meaningful' and 'deep' music and dispises anything considered popular, a close friend of her's did once swear they saw an S Club 7 album amongst her music collection - something she vehemently denies.
Hobbies: Reading - (the classics and works by philosophers, nothing modern. Some poetry too.) Playing violin, piano and flute, writing music and poetry, gardening, photography, listening to music
Habits: Sienna has no known vices. She despises smoking, doesn't drink coffee, and is teetotal. Despite having no material vices, she does have a few personality quirks that have been known to irritate others on occasion. She is highly professional at all times, even amongst friends. She is never late for anything, appears immune to stress, and at worse, can appear stand-offish and blunt, but these traits occur more with people she is unfamiliar with. She also constantly people watches, but not in a spiteful way.
Clothing Style: Sienna has no real love of fashion, and tends to wear what she feels comfortable in. This being said, she always dresses immaculately, whatever the occassion. Most of her clothes are dark and formal, and she never wears anything too bright. She also appears to have a taste for psuedo-gothic clothing and jewellery.
Family: Mother, Jelana (48); Father, Steven (49); Brothers, Niko (22) and Richard (20); Sister, Katya (19)
History: Sienna was born in London, United Kingdom, and is the eldest child of Jelena and Steven Clarke. Steven worked at a bank in Central London, while her mother was a home maker. Sienna was quiet and reserved, even as a young child.
Sienna's mother, Jelena is of Bosnian descent, and so her faimly spent large portions of ever summer staying with Jelena's relatives in the suburbs of Sarajevo, then in Yugoslavia. Sienna had many friends, loved her Bosnian family and spent many happy summers here. This came to an abrupt end in 1992, when war broke out in the newly independant Bosnia. Though the reasons behind the war were slightly alien to Sienna, then only 8, she was old enough to understand that Sarajevo was under siege, and her friends and family were dying. It seemed as though everyday the phone rang to announce another death, and she watched her mother break down in tears. Though Sienna was also devastated by the news that people she knew were dying, she internalised much of her grief. She refused to let her mother see her cry, and carried on best she could, especially helping to raise her younger siblings. This mechanism of carrying on when in great pain is something that has always stuck with Sienna to this day. In was during these dark times that she first began to take solace in music. Both in learning to play three instruments, and listening to music.
Shortly after the war ended in 1995, Sienna's father lost his job. This left the family's financial prospects looking bleak, and although Sienna still doesn't know the full details, she heard the word 'bankruptcy' mentioned numerous times throughout that period. This pushed her parents to breaking point, and there were times when is seemed almost certain the family was set to fall apart. Yet, despite how scared she was, she refused to let her emotions show to anyone. She never stopped caring, but she didn't acknowledge her own anxieties for fear they would over-run her if she did. It was also around this time when her family relocated to Seattle, United States, for a fresh start.
At American High School, Sienna had a few friends, but showed no interest in being popular, or well liked by the masses. She'd learnt very young that life is far too short to worry about things like that, so she just stayed true to herself, and didn't care much for what other people thought. It was here that her 'icy' nature, her survival mechanism of appearing emotionless and keeping even people she liked at arms length to protect herself, started to cause problems, and Sienna experienced some bullying from other children. But as always, Sienna didn't care much for the opinions of others, and took no notice. Those that took the time to get to know her realised that although slightly distant, Sienna proves to be a very loyal and caring friend. Her abilities playing the piano, violin and flute all came into their own during High School, and Sienna participated as a soloist in many recitals.
Sienna is currently studying International Law at college, working at Torrent to fund her education. She ultimately aspires to working within the United Nations. She has also mentioned on a few occassions about relocating to the Netherlands in the future. Although nobody has openly questioned her aspirations to work for the UN, the few who know about her family history secretly wonder if her desires to beinvolved with the work of the UN is to prevent anything on the scale of the atrocities commited during the Yugoslav wars from happening again.

Sienna sat silently by the window, flute pressed to her lips. As the morning sunlight streamed in through the glass, she played one of her own compositions: a light airy piece, yet with a definite sense of darkness and meloncholy underlying it. Sienna never played her pieces for anyone. She always waited till her flatmate was out to either compose, or practise her own works. Right now it was 6AM, but her flatmate was staying with her mother. Sienna therefore took this chance to practise. Once the piece had concluded, she neatly placed her flute down and inspected the clock on the wall. She still had plenty of time till her shift started, but decided to get ready anyway. Sienna Clarke was never late for anything, and it was her habit of always being ready in plenty of time that ensured this.
Once she had gotten dressed and styled her hair, she idled over to one of her many bookshelves to select something to take to work with her to read. She always had something to read in her bag. But what to choose today? Descartes? No, she'd read some of his works recently... a novel perhaps? Les Miserables? No, a little too preachy... besides, she'd read it three times now. Great Expectations? Not a bad read, but something else... after a little diliberation, Sienna settled on a worn copy of Pride and Prejudice. She'd read it many times before, but she did enjoy it. Placing the book in her handbag, Sienna looked to the clock again. Her shift didn't start for over an hour and a half yet. She gathered her hat and coat, and headed to the front door. Although the others never understood why she always arrived so early for work, she relished the silence and calm at the beginning of the day, before the madness of customers set in.
