The paperwork was a lot less irritating than I'd expected, and what's more awesome than being in a building full of people who are all competent programmers? :P

Yep. It's for maintaining a program that was written in around 2002, and they've been using Visual Studio 6 until today, no less (it's about ten years old). They finally decided to switch to Visual Studio 2008 today, and we spent the entire day fixing the code generated by Microsoft's auto-conversion thingy, which naturally had lots of errors.
It's not really actual work yet. I'm basically a lackey to a more senior intern, helping him put the final touches on his project while waiting for the rest of the company to become well enough adjusted to the acquisition to pay more attention to the new interns.
And I liked sitting on my ass and playing Go all summer...
