He needs to learn to live on his own again, and a Senior Trip to LA brings him to that realization. Will a certain mysterious hottie named David be able to save him from the shell his father has forced him into? (I believe it'll end up better than it sounds... I suck as summaries!)
Disclaimer: Never happened...though, I wouldn't mind...just, not as sad, please!!
Dedication: To Josh and Rei...and I'm sorry, Josh...
Authors Note: I know it's been like three weeks, and this is a lousy chapter, and short, but... *sigh* My life has been so screwed up, and I had two weeks of band camp, I've cried a lot, I've cried myself to sleep, if I even slept at all. And this is what you get for now...but I'm going to be starting the next chapter like *now* and I wanted to add it into this, but it would have meant a longer wait, and it wouldn't have fit right. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry... And no one's really asked, but I just thought I'd let you know that the guys from GC are there real ages in real life in here. But David was still friends with them :) And I was watching the VMAs, but I didnt get to see the last hour, so I will watch it on repeat! lol
On the way back to the hotels for their second night there, Pierre sat on the tour bus with David wrapped in his arms, the smaller teen's head resting on his shoulder. It felt weird, being...well, the man in the relationship for once. He supposed it was only naturally, he is bigger, but personality wise, he was the one who felt more comfortable laying in David's arms. Sometimes Pierre wished they could switch bodies, but then again, he really didn't mind looking odd and out of place, as long as he was safe in David's arms; that's all that mattered.
"Pie?" David asked in a whisper, not bothering to open his eyes. They were both content for the first time since he met Pierre, and he was going to hold onto that for as long as he could. Pierre hummed in acknowledgment, waiting for him to continue. "Don't worry, I'm going to stick with you." He smiled, and though Pierre's eyes were closed and he couldn't see the smile, he could hear David's voice change. "'Cause there's no way I could forget you either." Pierre kissed David's forehead and they drifted back into a comfortable silence for the rest of the ride.
When back at the hotel room, they used their eighth kiss while saying "Good night." and David headed off to with room with a yawn. However, Pierre wasn't ready for bed yet, not until he sorted a few things out. He knocked on Sebastien and Chuck's hotel door and waited until Seb answered.
"Hey, Pierre, what's up? You need something?" Seb asked, rubbing his eyes. He was dressed in only his royal blue silk boxers. "I was just about to go to bed."
"Sorry... can I speak with Chuck for a few minutes."
"Erm... sure." Seb stepped to the side and let Pierre in, who walked up to Chuck, who was sitting on his bed, writing in the same notebook he had been writing in earlier.
"Diary?" Pierre asked with a smirk, that fainted when Chuck glared at him and tucked the book away. "What's been up with you, Chuck? I mean... you haven't been yourself lately."
"I'm fine." Chuck mumbled.
"You sure? You guys always help me out so much, but you know, you can always come to me if you need help with something."
"I said I'm FINE." Chuck yelled the last word and Pierre had to suppress a giggle. He could never take Chuck seriously when he yelled, because it just magnified his lisp even more.
"All right... well... okay..." Pierre didn't know what to say, who he just stood up as Chuck tucked himself into bed. He passed Seb on the way out who gave him a sympathetic smile and his eyes said 'He'll come around...'
Going back into his own room, Pierre saw that Jeff was already sleep. He sighed, all of them were really tired, so much so that they had decided not to explore the town and head right to bed. So, following the others, he wrapped himself up in his blankets and left sleep take over. He realized, that since he had become close to David, his nightmares seemed to come around less and less. Nightmares of things that had happened to him, nightmares of things he worried would happen to him. But now, he didn't worry so much, because David gave him the comfort he's always needed. He slept peacefully that night, with only good dreams. Dreams of him and David together. There was a knock at the door. Pierre looked at the clock. 4:34 AM What the hell? He opened the door, still in his close from the night before, rubbing sleep from his eyes, to see David looking at him through the crack of space he had allowed open. The lights out in the hall nearly blinded him and he rubbed his eyes again. "David, what the hell are you doing?" He noticed that David was completely dressed in new clothes and completely groomed already.
"Get dressed." David whispered. "I want to take you somewhere, come on!"
Pierre groaned and David skipped off back to his room. Resisting the urge to crawl back into bed, Pierre went into the bathroom to brush his teeth and run a comb through his hair. He washed his hands and face and then changed into fresh clothes before meeting David in the hallway.
"Where the hell are we going this early in the morning?" Pierre groaned.
"You'll see!" David whispered, taking Pierre's handed and running down the hall to the elevator, dragging him along. They raced through the lobby and outside, to David's limousine where his driver was waiting patiently. David pushed Pierre in, climbed in himself, and they drove off. Somehow, Pierre felt like he was being kid-napped. And he kind of liked it.
They drove through Boston, traffic wasn't bad since it was still early, and soon they arrived at a bridge. "Where are we going?" Pierre asked again, but David only smiled. They crossed the bridge, driving down a street, one which curved around, leading them to another street. They passed a small convenient store, personally owned, and a few lighthouses, many old buildings, and a school. When on the second street, Pierre noticed they were driving up a steep hill, and then down the steep hill. From the top, he could see out over the ocean. Looking behind him, he noticed they were on a small island, and he could still see Boston behind them, a few lights shining in the darkness.
They came to a stop at the bottom of the hill after making a turn down a flat street, near the water. They were in a dark parking lot, and Pierre couldn't help but feel a little scared now, especially when they got out, and David's driver drove off.
"Come on!" David whispered excitedly. Pierre hesitated, and David took his hand. "Just trust me." David said softly, standing on his toes for a minute to kiss Pierre's cheek. Pierre nodded and, not letting go of David's hand, they made their way across the dark parking lot. There were no lamp poles, there were no buildings besides for a few houses behind them, and just a few trees around. To the left Pierre could see another hill, extremely steep, and as they kept walking, he saw that it lead through some trees to the top of a very high, very scary, cliff.
"Where are we?" Pierre asked finally. "And what's that?" Pointing to the cliff.
"Nahant." David said. "We're in the Boston Harbor, well, half way. Half of the water, on the other side, is the Nahant harbor...but well, it's not very official. This islands only a square mile. That? It's a cliff, silly." He laughed. "It was used in America's Revolutionary War a lot...there's still some cannons up there."
Pierre continued to follow David and soon they arrived at another path, this one not so steep, and they followed it, going around and around a mountain like hill, until they reached the top and found a stop facing out over the ocean.
"Sit with me." David said, sitting close the the edge, but not dangerously close. Pierre could see the waves crashing into some large, pointy rocks below, and a shiver ran down his back. Suddenly regretting not bringing a jacket, he walked up some more, slowly, and sat next to David, closely, taking in his body heat.
"Why are we here?" Pierre asked, still slightly scared.
"You'll see soon." David whispered, putting his arm around Pierre, warming him up more. "You okay?"
"Yeah." Pierre nodded, looking out over the water. "It's beautiful here." He squinted in the dark, making out some objects in the distance, floating in the water, used by captains no doubt. After a few minutes, he saw the slightest spark of light across the horizon, far off. He gasped, sitting up a little. "David!" David smiled. "I've always wanted to watch the sun rise! Especially like, you know, over the water! I hear it's so beautiful."
"Well, I guess it's time to find out for yourself." David laughed, pulling Pierre in a little closer.
They watched in contentment, and excitement on Pierre's part, as the sun slowly began to rise over the rippling water, sending a rainbow of beautiful colors shooting out over the sky, into the clouds, and they saw a few birds fly through it, making for a perfect, romantic scene, and Pierre couldn't help but wish he had his sketch pad.
"This is beautiful." Pierre whispered, turning towards David, seeing his eyes sparkle from watching the light. He leaned over to surprise David with a sweet, gentle kiss. Eight. David's eyes met his as he hovered in front of him afterwards, and the older, smaller teen smiled. "I love you." Pierre whispered, kissing him again, not closing his eyes. Nine.
David's heart fluttered. While the lyrics had said this to him, Pierre had never said it directly to him, and while David felt the same way, he had never told Pierre, and luckily, this was the perfect time. He returned the favor, kissing Pierre once more. Ten, Pierre noted mentally. "Pierre, I..." David took a deep breathe. "I've been wanting to say this for so long, but I was afraid of pushing you away, scaring you away. But... last night, your lyrics...there were so beautiful. And at the end, you told me... you told me that you loved me. And I wanted to say back, but I was in such shock, and... Gosh, Pierre, I love you so much." David kissed him again. Eleven. "I told you last night, that I was falling for you, but I should have made it a more certain statement-"
"It's fine." Pierre smiled, kissing him once more. Twelve. "Let's enjoy the sunrise." He whispered, allowing David to lean on him, David's arm still wrapped around him, as they watched the colors continue to reveal themselves, until the bright, yellow and orange, sun peaked completely out, shining brilliantly over the rippling water, waves still crashing against the rocks.
"Let's go before the others get too worried. I told Pat last night that I was taking you here, but even if he told Jeff, he might still be worried." David laughed. Pierre nodded, and they stood, talking back down the spiraling path and across the parking lot, just in time as David's driver pulled in, smiling at them. David opened the door and they got in, driving back through the now busy streets of Boston, and back to the hotel.
"Pierre!" Jeff screamed, tackling him as soon as he reentered the room, a brilliantly large smile on Pierre's face.
"What?"
"Where the hell were you?!" Jeff asked, checking Pierre's eyes for any sign of something being wrong. "I just woke up...you were gone!"
"David took me out. He told Pat, you would have found out from him if you woke up earlier. Chill." Pierre laughed, trapped under Jeff on the floor. "I'm okay, really." He assured. "Can I get up now?" Jeff eased off of him, still looking at him with suspicion, before going back about his business. Pierre packed up his things and waited for the rest of the guys to finish before saying quick goodbyes to the guys of Good Charlotte, who would be continuing on their tour, and climbing back into David's limo with the rest of the guys from Simple Plan, and Patrick. It was a long drive back home, but Pierre didn't mind as much this time. He got some more sleep, and then he stayed pretty quiet, steering clear of Chuck, who still seemed pretty angry with him. Over what, Pierre did not know.
When back home, he shared the experience from the night before with David, who promised to talk to Chuck for him.
A few days went by, which mostly consisted of Pierre and David sharing up to their eighteenth kiss, and Jeff spending a lot of time with Mandy. Seb came by a few times, getting a little nervous whenever Pierre tired to talk to him about Chuck. Pat came once with David, and they all skated together, Pat video taping one of the experiences. When, finally, David went to go visit Chuck about why he freaked out on Pierre, David came home with nothing of importance to tell Pierre, and a bruise on his arm from where Chuck had hit him. Apparently the guy was getting hostile.
Pierre impatiently and nervously awaited information about college acceptances, still not telling Jeff or the other guys that he had applied, and only letting his worry out to David on the last day before they were planned to leave for Mississippi, but David assured him that he'd find out soon.
The morning that they were set to leave, Chuck came over to the house, staring at the floor the whole time, and handed an envelope to Pierre. Pierre looked at him and went to speak before Chuck mumbled "Don't open it until you're on the plane." before heading back to the door. "Oh, and Pierre?"
"Yeah?"
"Be careful." Chuck whispered and scurried outside, into his car, and he was gone.
Pierre looked questioningly at the envelope, and went along with his friend's wishes, tucking it safely into his pocket.
"Ready?" David asked, turning to his suitcase.
"Yeah." Pierre smiled, turning to Jeff.
"Be careful, buddy." Jeff whispered, pulling Pierre close to him, teary-eyed. It's been a long time since they'd been apart. "You'll call me, right? Even if everything is okay?"
"Jeff, I'm only going for a week!" Pierre laughed, hugging him back.
"I know... just... be safe, okay?"
"I will." Pierre pulled back and kissed Jeff's still bald head. "I promise."
Jeff smiled at him weakly, hugging him again, and passing him over to Seb, who hugged him fiercely too. They were all afraid to let go of him. But he was growing up now, and there was nothing they could do to stop that. He hugged Mr. and Mrs. Stinco, telling them he loved them, and then he and David piled their luggage into David's trunk before making their way to the airport, where Pierre had been just a few short weeks ago after meeting David. The world worked in strange ways...
