So I've discovered that my previous career choice was for the wrong reasons. I wanted to be a SEAL in order to be able to say "I was a SEAL." So, instead, I will be joining Marine Corps Recon. In everything I've done, the most enjoyable part was observation. In school, I never talked, was never the center of attention, and always looked in to certain groups. At parties I enjoyed watching and relaying; however, at parties with live music, I wanted to be on that stage trying to give people the opportunity to have a good time. Having said that, recon seemed like the best fit.
I picked up a couple books today. Rousseau's 'The Social Contract' and Thoreau's 'Walden.' The social contract is about Rousseau's(Romantic) ideal government(actually, a lack there of). Thoreau devoted two years of his life to living on the shore of a pond a mile away from any civilization. Apparently he started only with his clothes and an axe. I haven't read it yet, so I'm not sure about that one, but I do know he criticizes materialism a lot.
I've found a couple musicians (27 and 29) who have been playing music for a long time. Maybe something will happen with this. The sound is heavy and has that metal drive. Dare I say, it's Heavy Metal.
