it seems like it's been forever since you've been home

Making plans for Greece had been taking up a lot of Henry's time--deciding exactly what places they'd revisit, anticipating the way the world had changed in their absence, trying not to succumb to vertigo at the idea--and maybe that was a reasonable excuse for forgetting that there was somewhere else he might want to at least call during the holiday season.

It was Elias who, while visting, casually commented that he hadn't heard much about his parents, and Henry realized he hadn't checked his personal e-mail since early November; he and Alex generally texted, instead.

An hour of reading increasingly irritated letters later, he knew they had to do something drastic, and there's not much that's more drastic than PINpointing to Arizona without calling ahead with your long-term boyfriend in tow.

"Okay," Henry says, outside their white front door, "Whatever you do, don't make prolonged eye contact with my mother, it makes her angry and she might charge."

He loves his parents, really.
