❖ MOON CYCLE 99 ❂ 1/18 - 1/24
Phase: New Moon. Good news everybody. It's dark and overcast all the days. And there is no moon to see.

Weather: Aside from the overcast skies, it seems pretty nice. At least it isn't windy. ...and yes. It's actually snowing AND raining on one day. At the same time. Enjoy.

Effects: Dreams have a tendency to lean more towards the racy side, no matter how embarrassing it may be. As a result, the Dreamberry seems to emit a reddish glow during them.

Notes: Here’s what’s on tap for this week:
  • The big move. As of January 25th, Somarium will be on Dreamwidth. To see the final results of the poll, you can view them here. As of right now, reserves are open for the upcoming February application cycle over at Dreamwidth. If players have not done so already, they are encouraged to start moving their journals over. Here's a link to a guide to Dreamwidth to help with the adjustment process.

  • Upcoming AC. Just as a general reminder, the Activity check for January will simply be a check-in saying whether or not a player will be moving with Somarium to Dreamwidth. More information about this will be provided when the actual AC check goes up. The check will last from the 21st to the 31st to provide ample time for all the players who intend to make the move.

  • Backtagging. As previously mentioned in the last poll linked earlier, backtagging will be allowed through the end of February to tie up loose ends and finish up plots as needed. After this date, no further posts will be allowed on Livejournal.

  • Dark spots. It seems that there are spots lingering around that are darker than usual. And they're growing, perhaps even seeming to follow characters around. Of course, that's simply their imagination and a trick of the (lack of) light... right? On the other hand, those fissures seem to be pretty menacing as well, even glowing a bit reddish at night from deep within. Most locals tend to stay away from both the fissures and the unusual dark spots and advise that everyone else do the same.

  • Shadow tar pits. Many would think the dark spots are shadows or as mentioned earlier, a trick of the light, but once they step into it they will fall in (similar to falling into a mud pit or tar pit). Characters who wind up in the shadow tar pit may fall as far as waist deep and will need some extra help to pull themselves out. Should it only be knee-deep or ankle deep, they'll be able to make it out on their own (or sacrifice their shoe). Though this is only optional, characters who fall waist deep may be overcome by a sense of fear and things may seem a lot darker. Could this be a sign of things to come?

That should be it. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to comment to this post.
