❖ MOON CYCLE 98 ❂ 1/12 - 1/17
Phase: 1/4 Waning. The sun seems to be starting to set before 5PM this week, causing nightfall to come earlier than expected. It will remain dark until 8AM the next morning when the sun will finally start showing up.

Weather: Days are cool but sunny. The weather can't seem to make up its mind on whether or not it wants to snow or rain, so it's trying both.

Legend:

Effects: Sleepwalking seems to be more common as well as talking in one's sleep. Dreamers may have a tendency to share embarrassing secrets out loud while they're sleeping.

Notes: Here’s what’s on tap for this week:
  • Apps/Reserves. As of right now, both applications and reserves are closed. Both will open pending the results of the current poll.

  • Polls/Discussion/etc. The results are in for the initial poll on whether or not to move to Dreamwidth. Somarium will be moving. When, however, has not yet been decided and will be determined by the current ongoing poll. This poll also includes the bonus question on whether or not players would like to switch Somarium to a community-only based game or keep it how it is. To view the results, take part in the poll, and read the discussion about all the options, please refer to this post here. This poll will last until either a) a minimum of 80% of current players have voted, b) there's a clear-cut majority, or c) until Sun. Jan. 15 11:59PM (CST). Keep in mind that it will be one vote per player. Further rules and instructions on the move will be outlined after the results.

  • F-Add Update. Even though we are moving, please add the new journals if you haven't already. Otherwise, use the Community Member List to check for journal entries. Below is the C/P for the most recent friend add/remove, and you can use the admin console.

  • More shaking/rumbles/etc. Over the past few days, Sommunists may have noticed the minor trembles. Well, they're still present except now they're a bit more forceful in making their presence known. Was that a low-flying airplane that just flew over the house? Nope. That louder rumbling was, in fact, Somarium. Every so often a quake will be strong enough to actually knock things down off of shelves and break unsecured glasses.

  • Fissures. In connection with the rumbling, small fissures are beginning to appear in places throughout Somarium. They're not very big at all and can be easily stepped over or even missed, but one would hate to lose their wallet down there. Filling them in will only result in them coming back the next day slightly bigger than before and angrier.

  • Darkness. As mentioned above, the darkness of night seems to be trying to linger more than it has before. The sun almost seems to be having a bit of trouble coming up and "chasing" it away, but it seems to be doing the job for now. Even so, it wouldn't hurt to keep a flashlight handy, just in case. Most nights tend to be moonless and cloudy, giving off a sense of dread as well. Surprisingly, there also seems to be dark areas even during the day. Alleys seems darker and even places that are in the shade just seem a bit more... ominous. There's nothing there, but it just seems to have a colder feeling to it.

That should be it. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to comment to this post.
