1/2 Tetsu WHY DID THIS HAPPEN flashaddict January 8 2009, 19:29:18 UTC
[Player name] Lari
[Personal Journal] flashaddict
[Other characters currently played] Raiden | Metal Gear Solid | vr_training_rox
Laughing Octopus | Metal Gear Solid | show_me_ur_luls

[Character name] Tetsu ("T-Chan")
[Age] In his human-ish appearance, he looks to be in his teens. The equivalent of a teenager in Totetsu years.
[Canon] Pet Shop of Horrors
[Point in time taken from canon] At the end of the first series, when D is flying off in his magical ship.

[Background] Tetsu is a Totetsu. Totetsus are legendary Chinese man-eating sheep/goat beasts with the face of a man and the teeth of a tiger. Tetsu happens to be about the size of a medium-sized dog. But don't let those creepily cute looks fool you - he could easily devour you in a matter of minutes.

Tetsu first appeared in the Pet Shop of Horrors series as an extremely skilled (human) Chinese chef. Count D was a regular at his Chinese restaurant, and Tetsu used his charm to cook the pet shop owner up the finest vegetarian delicacies and sweets.

It was practically love at first sight. To everyone else, it looked like the pair were having a torrid love affair. In a strange twisted sense, they were.

The only issue? There were a string of serial murders in the city, all with at least one body part completely missing, assumably devoured by the killer... and the Chinese chef was the top suspect.

One night the "chef" took D to the bedroom. After some loving caresses and a near-hit rape incident, the "chef" pulled a butcher knife on D, exclaiming over how exquisite his blood would taste, and he would make the perfect topper to his fine cuisine. Unfortunately, Mister Chinese Chef was then caught by none other than Detective Leon and the rest of the San Francisco Police Department at that time. The serial killer was caught, bound like Hannibal in The Silence of the Lambs, and locked up tight.

But that was not the end of our beloved Tetsu.

Count D paid Tetsu a visit late at night. He knew what the 'Chinese chef' was since the first time he looked at him, and he urged the poor thing to abandon that human body and live with him in his Chinatown pet shop. There, the beast would get all the food he needs. After all, such cuisine tended to... simply walk right in to his shop.

The next day, the Chinese chef was no more. All that remained was a human shell with its heart missing. Presumably, the chef committed suicide by cutting out and devouring his own heart.

What really happened is that Tetsu ate his way out of his human host and joined Count D in the pet shop as a loyal new inhabitant. He has remained with Count D and the rest of the pets in the shop ever since.

[Personality] Tetsu (or "T-Chan," as D calls him) is a very grumpy, obstinate critter. He tends to have a perpetual look of bitchiness on his face, and he definitely isn't shy about it. He'll complain freely to the Count about the food he isn't getting and his next meal prospects. Also, he constantly thinks with his stomach, so whenever 'fresh meat' enters the shop, he begs Count D for a bite. He has a tendency to sneak out of the shop at night to find some people to nibble on.

However, despite his undeniably headstrong and angry personality, Tetsu is completely loyal to Count D and owes the man for offering him a safe place to stay. He's not all bad, and he's not just about the food; he is capable of making human companions, but these are rare and tend to be limited to the children who can see him as a 'human.'

[Abilities] Despite the fact that Tetsu is an animal, he is actually a very talented chef. He did live a good portion of his life inhabiting a human body and learning about human cuisine, so he is very knowledgeable about spices and tasty recipes. He will often identify humans and their body parts in terms of how tasty they would be in specific recipes... but only Count D understands what he's saying, anyway.

Tetsu also has very sharp, pointy teeth for chewing. Don't get too close or he will latch on to your tasty, meaty leg. Om nom nom nom.

[Other important stuff] To most, Tetsu will look like what he is - a small sheep/goat with the face of a man and the teeth of a tiger. However, there is the rare individual that will see a goat-horned teenager instead of an animal. Innocents, such as children, are the most likely individuals to 'see' him in such a way. Intoxicated and imbibed adults are the second most likely. And every once in awhile, Count D himself will use 'special incense' to show his pet shop customers what his exotic pets can really be...

[Any questions?] OM NOM NOM NOM NOM.

PS - This is assuming that Count D gets in. Disregard if he does not.
