Draco had spent the last month brewing an oddly weak batch of Veritaserum. It was weak for a number of reasons: one, the ingredients weren't readily available; two, something about the very nature of Somarium didn't let him brew the potion to its maximum potential; and three, perhaps there was a point in time at which Draco grew a spine, realised that not everyone deserved intense levels of disdain, and decided that a little bit went a long way.
It was mostly the issue with ingredients.
He waited now for his guest, two cups of tea already served and steaming upon delicate saucers. Even when he wanted something of his guests, Draco never gave them anything less than the best. If they were going to say nasty things about him behind his back, let it never be said that a Malfoy's manners weren't impeccable. Unbeknownst to his guest, the cup furthest from Draco contained a few drops of the Veritaserum. Whether they would work or not, however, was up in the air.
