[It is not so surprising these days to see Break out and about, with a cane in one hand and a piece of candy in the other.
He is focused on unwrapping the piece of candy as Light walks by--or so it seems, but he is quick to speak in an airy tone right as the other steps into earshot.]
[Light pauses mid-walk; as much as he'd been hoping to run into people that might be able to answer his questions, he isn't so keen on the idea of standing out immediately as a new person. Perhaps it couldn't be helped- after all, he's seen that the feeds on his phone go back some time, and he has no way of knowing just how long this stranger has been in Somarium. More problematically there is the possibility that this stranger could very well be the kidnapper holding everyone hostage. He subtly flicks his eyes up and down, as he commits the strangers appearance to memory, before offering a smile.]
Ah, yes... I am, as a matter of fact. [He manages a casual laugh.] Was it so obvious?
[Not five minutes have passed during their interaction, but already Light is developing a dislike for this stranger. His attitude is decidedly far too left of neutral to be considered likable. Whoever this is, is enjoying Light's predicament, that much Light can tell from the taunting... but did that necessarily mean he was the one holding Light here? It certainly didn't reduce the possibility.]
Found? [He's careful to keep his tone neutral, his inquiry casual.] Found by whom?
[And there it is; the reinforcement of the idea that Somarium is a dream state, which of course, Light, with all of his skepticism, is just expected to believe. Only reason he might do so, is because it's an explanation that, while ridiculous, is the only one ridiculous enough to actually explain this away. That aside, this persons continued nonchalance is irritating Light, though he's cautious enough at this stage not to let it show. Not only does he know frustratingly little to nothing about this place or the mechanisms by which it works, angering an inhabitant presented him with little benefit at the time being- but that's a truth that's only valid at the present. Summoning more patience then, Light presses on, seemingly unperturbed.]
I'm not following you. [A lie. He has a rough idea of what Break is getting at, but he's curious as to where he wants to go with this. If it's a mind game- Light will indulge it, for now. Information gathering, not antagonizing is his chief priority.]
[He is aware, for Break has an ace tucked away, up one of those floppy sleeves--he's met Light before, and he knows very well that the other is far sharper than he is letting on here and now.
He has a very good memory for voices.
And so he simply tilts his head, leaning on his cane and meeting the other's eyes.]
Aren't you? My, you'll have to hurry and catch up, then! We won't get anywhere if you remain in one place.
[Light raises an eyebrow. We? As Light hasn't yet established a solid reading on Break's personality, he's not sure if the implied closeness is simply a part of his "act" with everybody--no, Light isn't at all convinced that this is genuine-- or if there's more to it. If anything it reminds him of L's tendency to use inclusivity as psychological ammunition; in other words, bait. For what purpose? An emotional rise? Now how would that benefit this person? The answer to that is obvious enough. Unless it's for personal amusement, it didn't and Light is not willing to give Break that pleasure.]
I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that there was a destination... Mr?
[Ah--there is a rapid change in demeanor, smile coming easily and cheerfully. He bows then, floppy sleeves accentuating the overly dramatic movement, even as he responds--]
I am called Xerxes Break, sir...?
[No need to let on what he himself knows; he's always found it best to keep most information to himself. But he cannot help but continue on, playing off of his earlier words--]
Well, now, there is always a destination! We are hardly meandering on to n-o-t-h-i-n-g, after all!
[Perhaps it's merely a function of Light being just as duplicitous, but he's still not buying the polite act. In fact, it's beginning to border on insulting. So while Light has no reason to be especially careful about giving out his name, in this world, where he's unsure of...well, everything really, he doesn't particularly like the idea of giving out unnecessary information. It didn't help that he felt like spiting Break either. He smoothly says the first name that comes to mind.]
Hideki Ryuga. It's a pleasure, Break. [He offers a friendly smile; though internally, he's appalled by his transparency. Hideki Ryuga. That goddamn idol.]
So what is the destination? [Light is unfortunately, in no mood to discuss the philosophical nature of endings.]
[...Oh? Interesting. A false name. That was certainly not the same name he'd received before. But he can humor that; there's no reason not to, and honestly, it amuses him quite a bit.
This is shaping up to be a far more amusing afternoon.]
The pleasure is mine, Mister Hideki, I assure you.
[And he seems to mean it, in fact--though that is simply because he finds this to be more entertaining than Somarium is wont to be.]
The ending cover of the book, I presume.
[That is all he offers, however, before clapping his hands, sleeves muffling the sound.]
Now I am sure you must have questions about this world! It would be quite rude of me to not offer a few answers, at the very least!

Might you be lost, sir?

Despite the candy in his mouth, his words are clear and perfectly intelligible.]
It was indeed! Unfortunately, I must inform you that you won't be found all to easily either.

That is in-deed the question!
Or perhaps woken up would be the more proper action, were you to have someone to wake you.
