Immediately realizing that a complete stranger was hovering him, Kadaj reacted on instinct. Moving with speed and clarity the remnant sprung up and shoved the stranger side. He withdrew his double bladed katana and pointed it directly at the man’s throat within mere seconds. “Who are you?” He demanded, feline eyes staring coldly at his new prey. Whoever this was had made a big mistake. He was SUPPOSED to go to the Promised Land with Mother. But this… this wasn’t the Promised Land.
Kadaj’s gaze briefly broke contact and glanced to their surroundings. It wasn’t like any town he had seen before. He roughly tapped underneath the stranger’s chin with the dull side of the blades to make sure he had his attention. “Tell me why you brought me here,” Kadaj insisted, his voice low but still quite dangerous. His entire body was wired and tickling, coiled up and ready, wanting to spring into action, “and don’t lie.”
A mixture of annoyance and what might pass for admiration passed through the remnant. Whoever this guy was, he wasn’t afraid, and there was something to be said about that. Kadaj had never seen such brash behavior at the end of his sword. So either this man was incredible stupid or had a death wish. Possibly both. Either way, if that was the case the shard of Sephiroth would happily oblige

“I did ask it,” Kadaj curtly replied. “You’re just not listening to me.” He had very little patience, especially when he was on the side with the disadvantage. This was a new place to him and he certainly didn’t want to be here. He knew this wasn’t the Lifestream because that’s where he was created and he remembered what that was like. He was far too conscious to be in it, not to mention the Lifestream was more like a black void than a city.
“Let’s get one thing straight,” he leaned in, pointing an accusatory finger right at the Prince. “The only reason you’re still standing here before me is because I feel generous enough to let you live.” Kadaj straightened his posture, still ready to pounce if need be. “You’re being cooperative and as long as you stay that way I have use for you.” The remnant would have no qualms about gutting Bel right here and now if that’s what best suited him.
“You can call me Kadaj.” He finally introduced himself. “And I want you to tell me who’s in charge.”
Annoyed, Kadaj shot him a side long glance. He didn’t appreciate being laughed at, and this guy, The Prince had a funny way of showing his amusement. Bel appeared not quite right in the head. Then again, many people had said the same about Kadaj and his brothers. Perhaps he was some sort of ShinRa leftovers - a projection gone wrong, and he had been driven to madness by the experiments. It wasn’t unheard of. While Kadaj was just as eager to laugh or dismiss other’s misfortunes as Sephiroth might, the experimentation aspect was something to be taken seriously. Memories that were not strictly his own often plagued his thoughts about ShinRa’s projects.
“We’ll see about that. If there is a way in,” Kadaj said in a distant, odd way, “there’s a way out.” His mind was on his finding his brothers. They had to be here. Nevertheless, the young remnant did not see Bel as a threat. He idly twirled the double bladed katana in his hand as he began to get more and more restless..
“What are you capable of, hm? Anything good?” He stared at The
