The boy left Mister Jigen's house again to wander the city and experience everything he could not back 'home'. He took his time with everything, leaning down to smell every 'flower.' To watch the 'birds' take off into the sky, which was so big now that there wasn't a barred window in front of it, and watch them until they grew so far away that he couldn't see them anymore. The boy touched the 'dirt' with his hand and liking the feel of it, rolled around in it like little boys do. It felt a lot nicer than in the desert where it was too hot and the dirt just blew on him and got everywhere. Here the 'breeze' was nice. He passed by adults who had 'dogs' and 'cats' with them. He only knew what horses were because of their use to the military, but not all of these other animals. And there were 'rabbits' that were small and soft, 'snakes' that looked vengeful, and 'hedgehogs' that hurt when he touched their back.
He was now walking along a 'sidewalk' in the city, staring up at the huge 'skyscrapers', absorbing all these new words for things. He saw a vendor selling sausages wrapped in bread and loped over to you to ask what they were called.
