Surprising. That was the word that could best describe what had happened an hour ago. Back in that field south of the plaza. The happening that had left Eridan a bloody, sore but grinning mess. He hadn't mentioned before to anyone where exactly he was going--he really didn't need to. He was a highblood and he'd be damned if he had to answer to anyone. Though that mentality probably didn't mean near enough considering what was probably going to happen when he walked in the door.
Or at least what he assumed was going to happen. He didn't care though, he was too fucking happy, too okay with the world. Everything seemed so fine and wonderful to him--except for that impudent gutterblood that had given him the bruises in the first place. Two black eyes, bloodied nose and mouth, split lip and copious amounts of bruising all over the place. Where one ended and one began was anyones guess really. But Eridan was fine with this roughed up image he made. Was more than okay, if anything it was testament to what transpired some time ago.
Granted he would have shown up earlier had it not been for the fact he spent a good 40 minutes looking for the glasses Karkat had so lovingly hatefully kicked away. He hadn't realized it at the time, but now when he thought about it--that was exactly what Karkat did.
Reaching the front door, he opened it, that grin plastered on his sore features as he crossed the threshold, not really caring if Kanaya or Tav were in the room--in fact he welcomed it. That way he could possibly brag about his newly filled quadrant. Though maybe not, he wasn't sure if he should even say anything at all, maybe jynx it, what if he got done telling them all he had a kismesis and then Karkat changed his mind the next day? Eridan wouldn't know what to do with himself to be frank.
