Whoa, thanks, was actually just about to put one up. Sorry I forgot yesterday evening, I closed kagayakino March 4 2011, 20:38:15 UTC
"A gym, he said ..."

Takuto stared up at the three story building laden with training equipment and space in awe. He'd never seen a place like that in his life! He found himself wondering if they had practice swords available, since he didn't want to get rusty while he was here. Sugata would hand him his ass. He puffed out a laugh and shook his head before finally heading inside.

Given the size of the place, he wasn't at all certain where to head first, but the sound of a dog barking drew his attention and he headed down a hallway to where a door was slightly open. He pushed it open further and blinked at the man inside.

"Um, I spoke to someone about part-time work earlier ..."

Lol, no problem. With notifs not working YET, it's been touch and go for me, too. furorimperator March 4 2011, 21:11:46 UTC
Soldier yipped, his long tongue hanging out excitedly. A new person! Must sniff! So he did, carefully sniffing at the boy's knees even as Sephiroth turned, wiping sweat from his face with the towel. Green eyes peered from silver and he nodded.

"Yes, hello. Please, come in." He chuckled. "The pup won't bite; he's simply overly excitable."

Takuto was already used to a small animal flying at him for play or attention, so a dog was nothing to him. "Whoa, hey there!" he said with a smile as he gave him a good ruffling pat on the head. "He's really friendly, huh?"

"He is. A bit much sometimes, but at least he sleeps through the night." Oh, Sephiroth had no idea what a blessing that was. But nevertheless, Soldier licked the boy's fingers enthusiastically, tail happily wagging.

Sephiroth chuckled and draped the towel around his neck, strolling over and nodding. "Welcome to the Arena. I'm Sephiroth. I didn't get your name in our earlier conversation."

"Oh, sorry about that," said Takuto, giving the back of his neck a sheepish rub. "I'm Takuto. Takuto Tsunashi."

He gave the dog another affectionate chuck under the chin and then leaned back to look around again.

"The Arena is really impressive! When you said 'gym' before, I thought you meant something smaller. It's good to meet you, Sephiroth."

He nodded. "Likewise." Glancing about, Sephiroth went on, "Well, considering what I grew up with, this is quite basic. But I had a little trouble finding an engineer who understood holographic projections and virtual realities."

He chuckled and gestured to the surroundings. "But for now, and for here, it suffices. Gives me something to do when I get restless, as you saw."

"What you grew up with?" His eyes got big as he considered the prospect. "You mean a facility this size is normal for where you grew up? Must have been a big city, like Tokyo!"

Although he had no idea what "Tokyo" was, Sephiroth nevertheless nodded. "Midgar is one of the largest cities in my world. Not necessarily its capital, but most of the power is located there. The company for which I worked is by far the largest and most powerful, considering it provided all the electrical power for most of the world."

He glanced around again, reminiscing slightly. "The ShinRa Tower is seventy levels high, and encompasses quite a bit of real estate. It's the hub of the city, all else circles about it on large plates. But yes, a place such as this I'd call 'quaint', perhaps."

Plates? Electricity for most of the world? Takuto was way out of his league here ... He was still having trouble grasping that all of this was a dream, after all. So he plastered on his best PR smile.

"Sounds ... really amazing! That definitely doesn't sound like anything I've ever seen before. I guess there's a lot out there I still don't know about."

He really wasn't going to get into the pros and cons of ShinRa control, therefore Sephiroth simply shook his head and shrugged lightly.

"I think that's the case for everyone," he replied with a slight smile. "But here we are, at least for now, thus we have to make due with what's given." He snapped his fingers and Soldier scampered over, tail wagging.

"But let me show you the rooms I have available; granted, we'll have to clear them out, but they're large enough for one person, I'd think."

"Oh, great! Man, you're really helping me out here!" said Takuto. "It's not like I have a lot to move in or anything, so I won't take up much space. I've just been kind of ... drifting since I arrived." He smiled sheepishly again.

Sephiroth led the way down one corridor and another, finally pausing before a few out of the way doors. Inside, there was a bit of spare equipment, but the space was large, well ventilated and even had a window set into the far wall.

He flicked the light switch on the wall, soft illumination lighting the space. "You're welcome to decorate it as you like; bring whatever you need appliance-wise and what not. A small refrigerator might be advisable, and you're welcome to the showers and whatever else is available.

"I will help you move in furniture if you wish; all I ask is that you help me keep the place clean and functioning, and perhaps ride herd on the youngsters if they get out of hand every once in a while."

"Like I said, I don't have much of anything yet, so I'll have to earn some money before I can bring anything, but thanks!"

Takuto looked the room, taking in the walls and window and all. He'd definitely be able to fill this place. It was about the size of his dorm room after all. It was no mansion, that was true, but mooching off Sugata hadn't really spoiled him. Much. He nodded with a satisfied smile.

"I'll do whatever you need me to, so I hope we can work together well from here on out."
