With the varying rain and chilly weather Somarium had been having recently, Rena hadn’t ventured very far from her cottage in the past few days. This was why today, Rena had decided that she was tired of being cooped up inside and a walk around Espoir was in order. Bundling herself up in a jacket, Rena ventured out into the fog, not sure exactly where she was going. There were a lot of things cluttering her mind, so walking without a defined destination was just what she needed to clear her thoughts.
In the past few weeks, many people Rena had considered her friends had vanished from Somarium. Even after living in Somarium for almost two years now, Rena doubted she would ever be able to get used to these disappearances. It made her wonder...would Somarium ever decide that her time in this world was up and throw her out like the rest? The idea of vanishing and returning back home seemed simple enough, but what about the people who had died in their world? Would Rena simply go back to being dead or….would she begin a new life? She still didn’t understand those memories of "past lives" in Hinamizawa she seemed to have and what it meant for her. It was all very confusing.
A sudden movement in front of her momentarily broke Rena from her thoughts. Looking out into the fog, Rena could make out the vague shape of a woman. As she walked closer and closer to it, the blurry figure morphed into the figure of a very familiar person and Rena came to an abrupt stop. The woman had short pink hair, was very well endowed, and wore a short shirt to show off the tattoo on her upper hip.
"Rina...?" The name left a bitter taste in Rena’s mouth. Sudden violent memories flooded Rena’s mind of the things this woman put her father through and the things Rena wanted to do to her. It was hard to see at first, but the image of the woman in the fog seemed to be smirking at Rena. Letting out a scream in anger and disgust, Rena ran straight for it. But before she could even reach the illusion, it was gone in the blink of an eye. Surprised by its sudden disappearance, Rena lost her balance and landed face first into the damp ground.
