[It's a little hard to ignore the sounds of constant beeping coming from the Dreamberry. Rise approaches Lloyd from behind, peeking over his shoulder as she comes close enough.]

I don't think you'll get anything done that way.

[redcladidealist]

[Lloyd leans his head back until he's blinking upside down at Rise.] Huh? What makes you say that?

[She laughs slightly at the look on his face before moving to look back at the Dreamberry.]

You're just pulling up menus that you don't need for... whatever you're doing.

[redcladidealist]

Menu? [A brief flicker of confusion crosses Lloyd's face.] But I'm not ordering anything else to eat.

[A shake of the head as she lets out a giggle.]

No, silly. I meant menus on the Dreamberry.

Oh! I- I knew that! [Lloyd is trying not to look too flustered. Quick! Change of subject!]

So, how've you been, um, Rise, right?

[notjust_risette]

I've been okay, Lloyd-kun. How about you? How are you adjusting?

[She motions over to the seat across him.] Mind if I join you?

[Lloyd grins. Looks like he didn't need to worry about forgetting Rise's name. She already seems to have slipped with his.] My name's Lloyd, and sure! Do you want something to drink, too? [He lifts his hot chocolate. Hmm, maybe not so hot anymore. Oh well.]

I guess you could say I'm getting used to this place. I know where a lot of things are now. I just wish I could figure out how to get back home. It's been weeks and I still can't find anything.

[notjust_risette]

I know, I know. It's just an honorific, you know? [She looks over at his chocolate.] Sure, I could use a cup. [Flagging a waiter down to place her order now.]

A few weeks isn't too bad. I've been around for almost two years now.

[redcladidealist]

Honor-what? [Lloyd will pay for her cup. Hey, he did offer. Besides, they're supposed to be friends, right?]

Years? [He nearly drops his cup in surprise.] That's horrible!

[notjust_risette]

Some Japanese thing. Think about it like manners. [A slight tilt of the head.] Do you want me to just call you Lloyd then?

It's not too bad. Some people have been here longer.

[redcladidealist]

It's manners to change someone's name...? [He rubs the back of his neck.] Um, yeah. I think I'd prefer just Lloyd. [He doesn't think he can wrap his mind around a whole new set of manners.]

Don't you miss your friends? Your family?

[notjust_risette]

Okay, Lloyd it is. [She nods to him at first, then to the waiter as he put down her hot chocolate on the table.]

Don't get me wrong, I do. [She looks down at the mug of chocolate before her, stirring it slightly with the spoon.] I really do... But you just have to deal with it, I guess. No use being upset about it the whole time.

[Lloyd takes care of paying the waiter. He knows how to do that much at least - though it still feels a little weird not to be handing over gald.]

I guess that's a good point. [He shakes his head, staring into his own cup. Then he looks at her, giving her an encouraging smile.] Just don't give up. I'm sure you'll see your friends again someday!

Thanks, Lloyd-k-- I mean, Lloyd. [A laugh.] Looks like it's going to take a little getting used to.

[redcladidealist]

[He laughs, too, then takes a sip of his chocolate.] Don't worry. I understand. I think I'd make just as many mistakes trying to remember to call you Rise-kun.
