Ah-- Lloyd-kun! What are you trying to do?

It's Lloyd. [Lloyd grins. He remembers Omi, too.] I'm just seeing if I can figure out how this thing works.

[Looks just a bit awkward. Doing without the honorific? He supposes he can try but it really isn't proper!]

Do you not know? I'm sorry; I didn't realize... But I can show you the controls.

[Lloyd just doesn't realize what honorifics are. He thought Omi was mispronouncing his name.]

[He shakes his head.] No, I don't. You do? [He gestures toward a seat at his table.] Man, that would make it so much easier if someone showed me how.

[Omi slides into the indicated seat and pulls out his own Dreamberry to offer demonstration.]

Before I show you anything, can you tell me everything that you do know how to do?

Hmm... [Lloyd puts his hand to his chin, thinking about this seriously.] Well, I know how to talk to people, and I figured out how to write. Oh! And I found a map! I wish I'd known about that before.

All right: you know about the map and how to send text messages. You know how to make calls-- both video and voice?

[redcladidealist]

[Lloyd blinks, not quite certain what Omi is asking.] Isn't that the same thing as talking to people? [It's never occurred to him that the Dreamberry might be able to call just one person, instead of the entirety of Somarium.]

There are two different ways to talk to people. The voice option means they can only hear you. The video option lets you see each other while you talk. Video seems to be the default, but you can deactivate that by pressing these buttons.

[Omi shows him a short combination of buttons.]

Whoa, really? [That could be really useful - like if Zelos draws on his face again, or something else happens that he doesn't want people to see.] Show me that again. [He's going to carefully mimic the pattern on his own Dreamberry to help him memorize it better.]

[Omi complies with the request, seeing that Lloyd's mimicked the button pattern correctly before continuing.]

All right, I think you've got that. Do you know how to access the contacts list? That list will tell you the names of everyone visiting Somarium, letting you keep track of arrivals and departures. It also allows you to select an individual or group of people for making a call. That way, you don't have to wait for a network call from the person you want to talk to, and you don't have to make an open call to everyone when your message is only for a couple of people.

[Lloyd shakes his head.] You can do that?

Wait, so... If I made a call to just you, no one else could see or hear it? That's great! You could make all sorts of secret plans, or tell people things you don't want other people to know, and you wouldn't even have to be in the same room! [Someone's excited by this.] I want to try it out!

That's right. [Omi laughs a little. Lloyd's excitement is endearing.] Well, you can try it here if you like! Try finding my name on your contacts list and sending me a message.

Okay, got it. [Give him a minute. It's like he has a new toy~] So, I go up and down like this, and then I... Wait, there's your name! Omi... Tsukiyono... Cool! I'm Lloyd Irving. I don't think I told you that before. At least, not my full name.

Hey, is this thing on?

[Yes, Lloyd. It is. Omi, you've got mail~]

[Hey, as long as they're having lessons, might as well make use of the received message, too. He directs Lloyd to the voice mail and opens the new message, which repeats the short recording.]

And then to answer, you push this, and choose whether you want voice, video or text for it.
