[Draco has merely been wandering round the village, glad the world was calming down, even if winter was still upon them all. He can deal with a little snow, provided it doesn't do anything to him. Blissfully oblivious, he remains with his head in the clouds as he walks by, too distracted by being able to go outside again to notice Maia making snowballs.]

[Maia looks up from crafting her latest snowball and turns to set it at the top of a pile beside her when she sees Draco. Grinning, she creeps a little closer, aims for his back, and fires.]

[bullseye. Draco whirls around, wand at the ready so he can hex whomever did that into oblivion. He pauses when he sees it's Maia, though, smirking and giving a faintly amused chuckle.]

Getting me into winter fun-times, are we?

[Maia smirks back and sticks her tongue out at him.]

'Course I am. Didn't I warn you I would? And one important factor in a snowball fight is the element of surprise. Lesson number one.

Colour me surprised. [he casually leans down, taking up a handful of snow and packing it carefully, humming to himself all the while.] Though I suppose I likely should have seen it coming. Nice day and all that.

Yep, you should've. [she nods sagely and begins to sidle back to one of her snowball piles]

[mudbloodhater]

[he taps the snowball with his wand, murmuring a charm to make sure it lands on target, then pitches it back towards her.]

[Maia begins to run, then yelps when the snowball catches her full on the back] Oi! Cheater, I saw you do something!

Did not. I'm innocent. [but he grins, ducking down to roll up another ball.]

Lying isn't a becoming quality. [but she's also smiling widely as she flings two snowballs in rapid succession, more concerned with getting them in the air than aiming well]

[well, one had to hit: Draco catches it in the shoulder, yelping quietly before pitching off another - this one without the charm. Her other snowball barely misses his face.]

Merely stretching the truth, darling.

There was no part of that that could even be stretched to be truth, and you know it. [she's too busy retorting to dodge, and the snowball catches her in the hip, and hello snow down her pants, that's rather cold.]

Perhaps. [he grins, though. Maybe he's not so bad at this snowball business. A new skill to show off back at Hogwarts.] Bit cold?

Oh, you'd be happy if I were, wouldn't you be. [she grabs up another handful of snow, looks at it, looks at Draco, then abruptly begins to run towards him with the complete intention of dumping him on his back]

I thin- [his thought is never completed, cut off by an abrupt shriek as he realises what she's got planned. Draco promptly pulls a face before turning on his heel as best as he can in the snow, intent on outrunning her.]

[hell to the naw, he's not getting away that easily! she dives when she thinks she's close enough, aiming for his bottom half to unbalance him]
