He was actively seeking for someone to end his wrath. A soul so volatile would want to rest, and the only rest that he knew how to find was in death. (That other rest, simply sleeping, he had not found a way to achieve, but perhaps he would find it in Somarium.) Like any warrior he sought an opponent worthy of his expertise. But--Wrath wanted to be completely and unequivocally defeated by a warrior. And it could not be by a chimera. It could not be by some kind of other beast. No, he wanted to be violently destroyed--eviscerated, even-- at the hands of a HUMAN warrior.
He stood with his sheathed sword anchored in front of him in the deep snow, his right pupil shifting to the side, detecting movement.
"So...you will be the one to kill me," he stated with a slight smirk, one end of his mustache twitching upwards. "Or will I be proved wrong?" he asked his would-be opponent, casting his hard, dead eye straight ahead. Naturally he was full of confidence.
No one has ever beaten me. Not in a purely martial confrontation. I am a Homunculus, after all.
Even the least of was still far greater than a human.
Kain Highwind had proven formidable in conversation, but would he be equally as impervious truly fighting an artificial human? Which was superior in all ways to the real thing?
