Well, it was Christmas morning, and while he usually didn't celebrate it, he chose that this year his gift from himself was a real morning. Not one spent trying to find sleep after an exhausting night. And so, right after closing the club the night before, he had come home without any detours or delays. Sleep had still come in short periods but at least he had woken up a decent enough hour to actually be able to take over breakfast ( ... )

Roll your eyes all you want roomie, she has it so she'll flaunt it. When he gestured toward the stack of pancakes, the decorated tabletop and the lovely little breakfast set that he must've picked up the night before, she couldn't help but snicker. His efforts had paid off, despite her sarcastic little laugh, she moved to take a seat at the table, crossing her legs comfortably ( ... )

He smirked back at her comment as he sat down at the table by her side: "Well, I don't do things in small measure." It wasn't entirely true, but Chloe didn't need to know that.

He waited for her verdict before helping himself to the pancakes as well. Satisfied with it, despite the amused snort at her exaggerated reaction, he covered his with fruits and syrup before starting to eat, swallowing his first bite with a helping of coffee.

"Who would torture me all day long if I killed you?" Aside from his ancestors, that is. And for him to cook breakfast, he would have to be home in time for it more often. Send your complaints to the Master Assassins roomie.

"Yes, I'm starting to see that," she said, voice dripped with that typical Australian brand sarcasm, as she continued to enjoy her breakfast. She could get used to being pampered like this, and if she had known that Desmond's little assassin buddies were the reason behind his disappearing acts at night, she'd give it to them straight.

At his next comment, she couldn't help but chuckle around her fork. "Torture... is that what I'm doing?" she began after swallowing, eyeing him through a sideways glance. She stood, running her hand along the back of his chair as she passed him. "I thought I was being nice this whole time."

More like playing nice, really. She walked the few steps to her room, emerging seconds later with a neatly wrapped gift basket full of liquor, various amounts of glasses, and other accessories such as openers and shakers. She set it on the counter, once again leaning beside it. She gestured to it like it was a prize on a game show, "I even bought you a gift."
