[It had taken him a few minutes to find the papers he was sure he had but eventually he'd located them in his desk drawer underneath a stack of construction paper and crayons. As he made his way out to Espoir from the lakeside cottage he lived in Sora

[Her clasp- Eraqus' symbol. The Mark of Mastery sigil. What ties did it have to her future, Sora's past, so on and so forth. Sure it was slightly.. different, but to look so similar to something full of such evil was just unthinkable. And yet here she was, about to get what was hopefully, a good bout of insight on the matter.]
[It was the knock on the door that pulled her from her reverie of standing at the kitchen counter, cooling mug of hot chocolate in hand-- Sora had arrived. She fetched the door and stood aside to let him in.]
Come on in. [Smiles all around.]

Plus this was a chance to learn more from someone who actually studied to be a keyblade wielder, the least he could do was help them figure out what might have happened to them.
He smiles back at her when the door opened and beat his shoes against the bottom doorframe to get rid of most of the snow before entering the cottage.]
Thanks. It's nice to see you again.

[She'll take his coat when he comes in, and hang it up on the little coat rack, before leading him further into the little home. Living room should do fine; couch and chairs good for discussion.]
[But, ever the helpful host;]
Would you like anything? I just made some Hot Chocolate if you want to warm up?
[In all honesty, Aqua would have preferred to get right to business. But her manners and morals told her very much otherwise.]

With his coat gone Sora was left with his dark blue sweater and fingerless gloves that held the small stack of papers.
A small shake of his head.]
No, I'm okay. Took a sleigh over so I wasn't out in the cold very long.
[So instead he held out the reports for her to read through.]

And.. You found these on your journeys?
[She sits back down against the couch, motioning for him to take a seat wherever, eyes already scanning over the first page, brow seemingly stuck in a soft crease.]
Reply
Yeah, they were scattered across the worlds I visited.
[The boy practically flops onto the nearest seat which just so happened to be a single person chair. He waits in silence while she reads, ready to answer any question she might have.]

Who.. is Ansem, anyway?
[Still reading, but she'll glance up at him regardless.]
Reply
The real Ansem was the ruler of Radiant Garden. He was a scientist and a scholar. That first report was the only one he wrote from that first set, when he realized just what his experiment was doing he wanted to stop. Xehanort had other plans though and got rid of Ansem so he could continue the Heartless project and started using Ansem's name.
[The explanation came easy now that he knew the whole story of Ansem and Xehanort.]

I was there, recently. Just never saw him, I guess... [She trails off again, flipping the first page of the second set.]
[This was.. even more strange. It was like the same archive, but from a different perspective.-- At least until she came to the bit about finding the original set. So Xehanort had been experimenting with the other students- in secret. Delving into the Darkness, using innocent people like that. And the mention of just some young girl being sent off from earlier. It only fueled her growing hatred towards the man.]
And he.. Xehanort. He did all this. [Not exactly a question.]

Ansem was probably inside the castle. That's where he lived and worked. [Where Kairi lived too. Wait...did that mean that Ansem was her father? She couldn't remember anything about her time in Radiant Garden but it was possible...wasn't it?
Xehanort was a real piece of work but the man Sora knew didn't seem to care about anyone but himself and his own goals. Those same apprentices had fallen to Sora's own keyblade because they were blinded by Xemnas' lies.]
He did. After his experiments he became obsessed with obtaining Kingdom Hearts. The Heartless version tried to do it with the seven princesses and the Nobody version collected the hearts I had released from Darkness - thousands of hearts.

Kingdom Hearts. The largest heart- of all the worlds, like they talk about in here, right? [She motions to the papers]
What did they want with it? What did Xehanort want with it... Could such a thing really grant you enough power to.. I don't know. Rule everything? To destroy or create?
[She's almost talking to herself by now.]
Reply
Yeah, I think they mention it a few times in the reports. [A single nod of his head.]
Kingdom Hearts - the heart of all of the worlds, the heart of everything. They wanted its power to change the worlds into what Xehanort wanted it to be and he'd be the one in charge. Eternal darkness is what he wanted but what he found when he opened the door was light and the Heartless version couldn't take such power. Xemnas got a hold of some of the power but we defeated him before he could do anything with it. It really does have power and wisdom beyond imagination and I've been trying to protect it from Darkness and those who'd use it to do horrible things.

[Aqua lets the papers drop to her lap for the time being, sitting back against the couch as she listens. So the enormous moon she'd seen over Xehanort back then; Kingdom Hearts. However he had continued on- younger and all, she wasn't sure. But he was still eventually after the same thing. Power, the ability to change everything. To drown the worlds in Darkness.]
What I want to know.. How did he create a Heartless of himself, and yet still retain the memories. The entries just.. skip from before and after- understandably but...

When she stops reading Sora sits up straighter in the chair wondering just what was going through her head. Ven and Terra hadn't said much about what they were fighting against except the general Darkness and creatures known as Unversed.]
I'm not exactly sure how he did it but I think he had a strong heart. Covered in Darkness - but exceptionally strong. Like Ansem said in one of his reports he was a smart man who learned quickly so it might even be possible that he had to re-learn everything from his own notes. There's no dates on the reports so what time might have gone by is mostly lost to us and all we have to go off of is the time Kairi came to the islands when we were five and when the worlds started disappearing at fourteen.

[Five year old Sora. He'd been about that age when she'd seen him, hadn't he? Had she just.. missed it? She must have.]
I saw her then. Before she left Radiant Garden... I saved Kairi from the Unversed that attacked her- she was fine, then.
[Maybe if she'd stayed a little longer- maybe she could have stopped the poor girl from being sent from home, her memories wiped completely.]

It had been so long ago but he could still remember when she first appeared on the island. He was surprised to hear that Aqua had known her back then - even briefly.]
She was safe with us on Destiny Islands when Radiant Garden fell. Her time with us actually gave me enough time to become stronger so I could save them all and keep Kingdom Hearts sealed up longer. When Darkness came her heart might've left her body but it didn't go where it was supposed to, instead it rested in mine where it was safe.
[And he hadn't even known it until possessed-Riku pointed it out to him. Subconsciously his hand moves to where his heart beat in his chest.]
