[tee hee Izzy glances up, grinning and waving in greeting.]

Of course not. It's pretty hard to mess up a picnic.

Don't judge my cooking before you've tasted it.

[she motions to the pot.] Want some?

[chuckles] I might as well. [and begins to serve himself]

Did you really make all of this on your own?

Doesn't take that long to make soup, you know. Toss ingredients into pot, boil. Let it do its thing for a while.

I just made a lot, because I had no idea how many people were coming. [beam. Someone's gonna eat her cooking!]

It's still rather impressive. [and he actually means that statement.]

I'm sure there will be plenty of people, haha. [he sits down near her as he speaks is the food actually good? /just curious so she doesn't know Isabelle's cooking prowess] Didn't you get a lot of responses from that earlier announcement?

Yeah, I got a few. Still, that never guarantees anything.

[grin...grin...gri-- wait. Why isn't he saying anything?]

What's wrong?

[he really wants to just spit it out but he has more manners than that. so he somehow manages to swallow before setting down the spoon and giving Isabelle a rather ill smile]

I'll be honest with you, Miss Isabelle.

I think you may want to consult the cookbook again.

[she sighs, leaning her chin in one hand.]

Not the first time I've heard that. Have you been talking to my brothers?

Unfortunately, no. [he could have had a warning then sob]

I had only been joking about the possibility of cooking spoiling the picnic, but it looks like it might come true.

[but she thinks her cooking could be is good!]

No way. Picnics are more about hanging out with people anyway!
