Nero sighed as he began walking through Espoir. He was slightly annoyed, despite the fact that things were starting to pick up here after that little incident a few weeks prior. Dante had opened his business here, appropriately named, and had given him partial rights to it and permission to take part in the jobs he took. At least he wouldn't be bored in that regard. He was also making friends, or something akin to friends anyway. Having never exactly had friends back home, he could only imagine that this was what it was like. Then again, what he was mistaking friendship for might have very well been mere tolerance and in that case, he couldn't bring himself to bother with it.
But really, he couldn't blame them if it were just tolerance. He was stubborn, brash, smart mouthed and above all else, easily irritated. Like right now, for instance. Some might have found the raining leaves soothing, others would have seen them as a tool of enjoyment. He saw them as neither. To him they were god awful, floating down, landing on him and obstructing his path. They were okay at first, but as he walked by mounds and mounds of leaves, still growing in size, he could only growl.
He unsheathed Red Queen, his cherished blade and battle companion and spun it in his hands. He walked ever closer to a moderately sized pile of leaves, and stopped only a foot in front of it. He spun the blade once more in his hands before stabbing it into the ground. He revved the sword's engine, the Exceed Gauge spitting out gasoline as he did. With one more twist, the bottom of the leaves erupted into flames. He stood in front of it for a second longer, the warmth nice, before stepping back to observe his work.
He couldn't help but smirk as he watched the flames lick their way across the leaves, igniting every single one in its wake, the mound now nothing more than a smoking pile of char. Well, that was a nice, pointless, destructive way to take his revenge on the falling leaves now wasn't it? He stood idly by, Red Queen replaced on his back. He flicked a leaf off of his shoulder smugly as he watched the flames with an intensity reserved for only the worst kind of pyromaniacs.
